Blue Archive’s publisher in Japan is changing from Yostar to Nexon around January 2027. The news came on October 25, 2026, during the official livestream “Bluaka Live! How Are You Spending These Long Autumn Nights? SP,” announced by Yostar Representative Director and President Li Hengda. This is not a service shutdown: game data, owned items, and both paid and free Pyroxene all carry over.
That said, this is not a case where you can do nothing. Your Yostar ID will stop working with Blue Archive once the transfer maintenance ends, and you need to complete the migration procedure, which goes live in November, before that maintenance begins. Guest accounts that are not linked to a Yostar ID will be unable to log in if you skip the procedure.
This article covers what was announced, why the change is happening, what Sensei needs to do for the migration, the November and January schedule, and the commemorative giveaway tied to the handover. Nearly five years of “Blue Archive means Yostar” coming to an end is genuinely a little sad, but what you have to do is clear.
Start with what the official announcement actually says.
What was announced in Blue Archive’s publisher change?
Publishing rights for Blue Archive in Japan will transfer from Yostar to Nexon, targeted for around January 2027. Development stays with NEXON Games as before, and after the handover Nexon, the parent company of the developer, will handle operations as well.
| Item | Details (as of October 26, 2026) |
|---|---|
| Announced | October 25, 2026 (official livestream) |
| What changes | Japanese publishing transfers from Yostar to Nexon |
| Timing | Around January 2027 (maintenance schedule to be announced during November) |
| Development | NEXON Games (unchanged) |
| Data | Game data, items and Pyroxene (paid and free) all carry over |
| Service | Service in Japan continues. This is not a shutdown notice |
| Dedicated page | Nexon has already published a dedicated page explaining the transfer |
There will be no impact on the game data held by players.
Source:Yostar press release (PR TIMES)
That is the single most important sentence in the official release. It explicitly states that Nexon, NEXON Games and Yostar are working together to support the transition, so you can put the “is it ending” worry away. But the “no impact” part is about data. The way you log in does change. Skim past that and January gets uncomfortable.
Why is it changing from Yostar to Nexon?
Because NEXON Games approached Yostar with a request to end the publishing agreement. Both the livestream and the press release explained that the two companies discussed it over a long period and reached a mutually agreed conclusion to transfer Japanese operations to Nexon.
The stated goal is to deepen cooperation between Nexon and NEXON Games and build a structure where development, operations and IP expansion are handled as one. Since its Japanese launch in February 2021, Blue Archive has spread into an anime adaptation, a collaboration with the J.League, and plastic model kits. Put operations inside the developer’s own corporate group and decisions about domestic and overseas initiatives can be made at the same table. As company logic goes, it tracks.
Still, the atmosphere around Blue Archive in Japan was built by Yostar’s operations team. The way the livestreams were produced, the merchandise, the texture of the events, right down to the tone of the translation and the writing, all of it is heavily colored by Yostar. What happens to that after the handover has not been announced at all as of October 2026. The conversation video between Li Hengda and general producer Yongha Kim, planned for November, should be the first answer.
What should Sensei do right now? Yostar ID linking and the migration procedure
There are two things to do. Link your game account to a Yostar ID, and submit your application on the migration procedure page that goes live in November. The deadline for the procedure is before the transfer maintenance in January 2027 begins, and the maintenance schedule will be announced during November.
- Open your in-game account settings and check whether your Yostar ID is linked. If it is not, link it right now
- On the migration procedure page going live in November 2026, apply for the handover to the Nexon side
- Complete the procedure before the transfer maintenance begins in January 2027
- After the maintenance, log in using your Nexon-side account
As of the end of the maintenance, your Yostar ID will no longer be usable with Blue Archive
Source:Nexon’s Blue Archive transfer page
This warning is the most important thing on Nexon’s dedicated page. The Yostar ID itself remains usable for other Yostar titles, it just stops working for Blue Archive. Personal information registered to your Yostar ID, such as your name and address, does not carry over. Only the in-game data moves. Any Sensei playing on a guest account will be locked out if January arrives with no linking done, so this is the part to move on early. I honestly could not have told you offhand whether mine is linked. I am checking tonight.
What is the schedule from here, and what is the commemorative giveaway?
November 2026 brings the conversation video and the migration page, and the maintenance schedule will also be announced during the month. The transfer maintenance takes place in January 2027, and on January 23 and 24 the 6th anniversary event Bluaka Fes is held.
| When | What |
|---|---|
| October 25, 2026 | Publisher change announced |
| November 2026 | Conversation video between Li Hengda and general producer Yongha Kim, migration procedure page goes live, maintenance schedule announced |
| January 2027 | Transfer maintenance carried out (procedure must be done before it starts) |
| January 23 and 24, 2027 | 6th anniversary event Bluaka Fes |
| Giveaway timing | The distribution date for the transfer bonuses will be announced later |
The bonuses tied to the handover, as listed on the dedicated page, are 100 free Recruitments, a 3-star student select ticket, and roughly 24.6 million Credits. The distribution schedule is still pending. With the 6th anniversary party and the transfer falling in the same month, January means handling both the paperwork and the festivities.
To be honest about the open questions: how the PC version is handled, what happens to the translation team, and which company fronts merchandise and real-world events have not been announced at all as of October 26, 2026. Rather than filling the gaps with guesses, the accurate move is to wait for November’s conversation video and updates to the dedicated page. This article will be updated when details land.

In summary: what to take away from Blue Archive’s transfer
Blue Archive’s publisher in Japan transfers from Yostar to Nexon around January 2027. It is a mutually agreed decision following a request from NEXON Games, service continues, and game data, items and both paid and free Pyroxene all carry over. Because your Yostar ID stops working with Blue Archive once the transfer maintenance ends, you need to get your Yostar ID linked and complete the migration procedure, which goes live in November, before the maintenance begins. The transfer bonuses are set to include 100 free Recruitments, a 3-star student select ticket and roughly 24.6 million Credits, and the 6th anniversary Bluaka Fes takes place on January 23 and 24, 2027 (as of October 26, 2026).
The announcement boils down to three things: it is not ending, the data stays, but the door you log in through is moving. This is a deal driven by corporate priorities, and all that is required on Sensei’s end is checking your account link and doing the November procedure. Whether the feel of the operations changes is something to judge after watching November’s conversation video.
The Pyroxene stays. The only thing that does not is the Yostar ID. Go check your account link while you still have time.
