The mobile version (iOS/Android) of Vampire Crawlers: The Turbo Wildcard from Vampire Survivors, the spinoff from Vampire Survivors, releases at 9:00 BST on October 12, 2026 (17:00 Japan time). Alongside it, the developer report “Death Parade: Dev Update #3” went live on the Steam news hub, revealing a new mana card and a new arcana.

The details came from poncle on October 6, 2026. The game is already available on PC, PS5, Xbox Series X|S, and Switch, and mobile now joins that list. It is a spinoff of Vampire Survivors built as a casual turn-based deck builder with roguelite elements.

This update looks modest at a glance, but it is poking directly at the fundamentals of deck building, because a card that refunds mana and an effect whose cost changes every time are arriving together.

Mobile release 9:00 BST on October 12, 2026 (17:00 Japan time) / iOS and Android
Genre Casual turn-based deck building with roguelite elements

Turn-based deck building is, fundamentally, the genre best suited to a phone. By the same logic that turned Vampire Survivors into a monster on mobile, expect this spinoff’s player count to spike once it lands there too.

What new cards are coming in Death Parade Dev Update #3?

The developer report detailed three things: the new mana card “Karoma’s Mana,” the new effect “Adaptability,” and the new arcana “Chair Game.”

What is Karoma’s Mana?

Karoma’s Mana has a base cost of 1 mana, swaps out a single card, and then refunds the mana you spent. In practice, that is a card that cycles your hand for free.

In a deck builder, a swap card that pays its own cost back is almost always strong, because it functions as insurance against bad draws. That said, the base cost is explicitly 1 mana, which leaves room for other effects to shift that number around.

How does Adaptability work?

Adaptability changes a card’s mana cost to one more than the cost of the card added to the combo immediately before it. On top of that, the “Adaptability Gem” lets you attach the same effect to cards you already have.

What that really means is that the order of your combo now carries value on its own. Slot it right after a cheap card and it is cheap; slot it after an expensive one and it gets expensive. And since the Gem can bolt the effect onto existing cards, designing the sequence of your deck becomes a whole extra layer of play.

Chair Game (arcana) When a combo is running and your hand has no card to continue it, swap up to four cards, once per turn

What problem does the new arcana Chair Game solve?

Chair Game is an arcana that lets you swap up to four cards once per turn when a combo is live but your hand holds nothing that can continue it. It goes straight after the single most infuriating thing about deck builders: the one card you need refusing to show up.

The interesting part is the order of operations, because you discard first and draw after. That means effects that trigger on discard, like “Afterlife” and “Scavenge,” come along for the ride. A card designed to prevent dead hands doubles as a synergy enabler.

If there is a worry, it is that safety-net arcana like this tend to become the obvious correct pick the moment they exist. If every deck ends up built around Chair Game, the range of viable choices narrows. For what it is worth, Death Parade is said to be getting more new mechanics in future patches, with each one able to be toggled on or off per stage, so you are not locked in if it does not suit you.

Vampire Crawlers news roundup

The mobile version (iOS/Android) of Vampire Crawlers: The Turbo Wildcard from Vampire Survivors releases at 9:00 BST on October 12, 2026 (17:00 Japan time). poncle is developing and publishing, and the existing platforms are PC, PS5, Xbox Series X|S, and Switch.

“Death Parade: Dev Update #3” on the Steam news hub revealed the new mana card “Karoma’s Mana,” the new effect “Adaptability” and the Adaptability Gem, and the new arcana “Chair Game.” More new mechanics are planned for Death Parade in future patches, and they can be toggled on or off per stage.

SPOTGEEKS VERDICT

All three additions are answers to the same complaint: my hand does not line up. Karoma’s Mana is an effectively free swap, Chair Game swaps up to four cards, and Adaptability moves costs around based on sequencing. Every one of them cuts down on losses to a garbage draw. And from October 12, you can do all of it on your phone. The fit between turn-based deck builders and phones needs no further explanation.

If you already melted hours into Vampire Survivors on mobile, go ahead and clear your calendar for 5 p.m. on October 12.
