All 12 episodes of the anime SSSS.GRIDMAN are streaming free, one per week, on the official Ultraman YouTube channel starting at 8 p.m. on October 6, 2026. The trigger is Gridman’s arrival in the Ultraman Card Game, and this stream is the celebration tied to it.

The show first aired on October 8, 2018. That makes this almost exactly eight years on, and the fact that it is landing on Tsuburaya’s own channel is what really lands. SSSS.GRIDMAN is based on Gridman the Hyper Agent, the Tsuburaya Productions tokusatsu series that ran from 1993 to 1994, so this is the series coming home.

A high schooler named Yuta Hibiki loses his memory and meets a Hyper Agent called Gridman. Write the premise in one line and that is all there is to it, yet across 12 episodes this thing went to places nobody saw coming. Another chance to watch it cold is genuinely good news.

When does the free SSSS.GRIDMAN stream start, and how many episodes are there?

The stream begins at 8 p.m. on October 6, 2026, with all 12 episodes going up free, one per week, on the official Ultraman YouTube channel.

One episode a week feels agonizing to eyes trained on binge-watching services. For this show, though, the week of dead air actually works in its favor, because from the midpoint on it is the kind of series that flips its own premise episode by episode.

Why is it streaming free right now?

It is a celebration of Gridman joining the Ultraman Card Game. Given that the original Gridman the Hyper Agent was a Tsuburaya Productions tokusatsu show, folding it into an Ultraman card game tracks perfectly.

On the card game side, the first-ever collaboration arrives on December 4, 2026 in the form of SSSS.GRIDMAN-themed products. They are also slated to include a sizable number of newly drawn cards from creators who worked on the anime itself.

“A sizable number” of new art is the dangerous part. If art from the actual production staff is going into cards, that is a two-set purchase, one to play with and one to keep. I am fully aware this is the exact line of reasoning that fills my shelves, and I cannot stop.

When is the collaboration event being held?

A collaboration event takes place on December 28, 2026 at Ultra Heroes EXPO 2027 New Year Festival IN Tokyo Dome City.

The October stream start, the December 4 product launch, and the December 28 event all connect into a single line. Bring in newcomers with the stream, get them playing with the cards, then walk them to the year-end EXPO. Read the free stream as a funnel rather than a giveaway and it looks very carefully calculated.

If there is a catch, it is that a weekly cadence means roughly three months before all 12 episodes are up. By the time the cards launch on December 4 the back half still will not have aired, which could make sprinting to the finish without hitting spoilers tough.
