THE GUNDAM BASE SHIBUYA, a store carrying Gunpla, apparel, stationery and more, opens on Friday, November 20, 2026 on the 5th floor of Shibuya PARCO. The address is 15-1 Udagawacho, Shibuya-ku, Tokyo, hours run from 11 a.m. to 9 p.m., the floor space is 51.57 tsubo (roughly 1,830 square feet), and admission is free.
Within Tokyo, it’s the third location after THE GUNDAM BASE TOKYO and THE GUNDAM BASE TOKYO ANNEX, both in Koto City. But calling it “store number three” undersells it. The design pulls Shibuya street culture into the shop itself, and a large LED screen out front will run 3D visual sequences made exclusively for this location. This is a store built to exploit its address.
And if you’re planning to go right after it opens, there’s something you need to know. From November 20 through November 30, 2026, entry is restricted all day by advance lottery. The application window runs from 10 a.m. on Monday, November 9 to 11:59 p.m. on Sunday, November 15. Miss that, and you’ll be standing around in Shibuya on opening day with nothing to show for it.
Even as someone who hits Akihabara once a week, hearing that Gunpla shelves were going into Shibuya PARCO didn’t quite compute at first. Then I found out three busts are going up inside, and it clicked. This isn’t a shop built to sell. It’s a shop built to be seen.

When does Gundam Base Shibuya open, and what are the store details?
It opens Friday, November 20, 2026, on the 5th floor of Shibuya PARCO. Hours are 11 a.m. to 9 p.m., and admission is free.
| Item | Details |
|---|---|
| Store name | THE GUNDAM BASE SHIBUYA (Gundam Base Shibuya) |
| Opening date | Friday, November 20, 2026 |
| Location | Shibuya PARCO 5F, 15-1 Udagawacho, Shibuya-ku, Tokyo |
| Hours | 11 a.m. – 9 p.m. |
| Floor space | 51.57 tsubo |
| Admission | Free |
| Products carried | Gunpla, apparel, stationery and more |
To eyes accustomed to the flagship in Koto City, 51.57 tsubo reads small. But as a footprint secured on the 5th floor of Shibuya PARCO, it’s plenty. Judging by the floor plan, this won’t be a store that competes on square footage — it’s going to win on spectacle.
What’s worth seeing inside? Three busts and Shibuya-exclusive graphic art
The headline attraction is the trio of busts installed in the store: RX-78-2 Gundam, Strike Freedom Gundam, and Unicorn Gundam. The Gundam bust takes the center of the floor.
The walls are covered in graphics built around Gunpla box art. Graphic designer Toku Yokoyama handled the work, rebuilding Gunpla package art into graphic art shaped around a Shibuya concept. The source material is box art for three kits designed by Naochika Morishita.
| Source kit | Package art |
|---|---|
| HGUC 1/144 RX-78-2 Gundam | Designed by Naochika Morishita |
| HGCE 1/144 Strike Freedom Gundam | Designed by Naochika Morishita |
| HGUC 1/144 Unicorn Gundam Destroy Mode | Designed by Naochika Morishita |
Lining up the same three suits for both the busts and the wall art is a smart move. RX-78-2, Strike Freedom, and Unicorn are the entry points to the original series, SEED, and UC respectively. Whichever generation brought you in, the store is engineered so that your suit is standing there waiting.
There’s also a store-original “SHIBUYA COLLECTION” line, with part of the first wave already revealed. The rest is slated to be announced later.
What do you get from the opening campaign?
Spend US$33 (tax included) or more in a single transaction and you’ll receive an original sticker featuring Toku Yokoyama’s collaboration art, limited to the first 3,000 customers.
That cap of 3,000 looks different once you factor in the lottery system. The lottery-restricted stretch covers 11 days, from November 20 to November 30, so there’s a hard ceiling on how many people get in each day. Which means the stickers should actually last long enough to reach people who can’t charge in on day one. That said, the minimum spend of US$33 is often more than a single Gunpla kit costs. We’re talking two HG kits, or one MG.
Is entry really by advance lottery? Application window and the rules for winners
From Friday, November 20 through Monday, November 30, 2026, entry is restricted all day by advance lottery. Applications are open from 10 a.m. on Monday, November 9 until 11:59 p.m. on Sunday, November 15, with results going out in waves starting Monday, November 16.
| Item | Schedule |
|---|---|
| Lottery period | Friday, November 20 – Monday, November 30, 2026 (all day) |
| Application window | 10 a.m. Monday, November 9 – 11:59 p.m. Sunday, November 15, 2026 |
| Results announced | In waves from Monday, November 16, 2026 |
The rules for winners are spelled out in detail, too. Each slot admits the winner only — no guests. A single companion is permitted only if you require assistance. Show up more than 15 minutes late and you’ll be redirected to the next time slot.
The notice also makes clear that a numbered ticket guarantees entry, not the ability to buy anything. If cancellations come up, those slots may be released as same-day entry, and same-day numbered tickets are issued on smartphones and tablets. Full details on the entry lottery are slated to be posted on the official site at a later date.
The no-guests rule is rough if you were counting on going with family or friends. But picture the line stretching out of Shibuya PARCO on opening day and it starts to look reasonable. If you’re all going, the right move is for everyone to apply individually.

What to lock in before you head to Gundam Base Shibuya
One more time, with everything in one place. THE GUNDAM BASE SHIBUYA opens Friday, November 20, 2026 on the 5th floor of Shibuya PARCO, with hours of 11 a.m. to 9 p.m., 51.57 tsubo of floor space, and free admission. It’s the third Tokyo location, carrying Gunpla, apparel, stationery and more.
From November 20 through November 30, entry is restricted all day by advance lottery. Applications run from 10 a.m. on November 9 to 11:59 p.m. on November 15, with results going out in waves from November 16. Each slot admits the winner only, with no guests, and arriving more than 15 minutes late pushes you to the next slot. The opening campaign hands an original sticker to the first 3,000 customers who spend US$33 (tax included) or more in a single transaction.
At 51.57 tsubo, this is small next to the flagship. But between the 3D sequences on the big LED screen, the three busts, and Toku Yokoyama’s rebuilt package art, the design fills in for the floor space with sheer presentation. What you need to watch is that entry runs on a lottery, and that the application window is brutally short — 10 a.m. on November 9 to 11:59 p.m. on November 15. The no-guests rule is in effect too, so if you’re planning to go as a group, every one of you should apply separately.
The date to put in your calendar isn’t November 20. It’s 10 a.m. on November 9.
