TOHO Games, the game label of TOHO, opened pre-registration today, October 20, 2026, for the smartphone app Haikyu!! ALL Challengers on both the App Store and Google Play. A main visual and a promotional movie went up alongside it.
This is the first full-fledged training simulation game for the Haikyu!! anime. It’s billed as simulation and sports, developed by G2Studios, and it runs on iPhone, iPad, and Android as a free-to-play title with in-app purchases.
Haikyu!! games have mostly leaned toward competitive action up to now. Coming at it from the “training sim” angle is what makes this one interesting. On top of that, the package includes newly drawn 2D animated motion and illustrations plus freshly recorded voice work.
The obvious question is when it launches, so let’s answer that up front: as of October 2026, no release date has been officially announced. Pre-registration is running out ahead of everything else. Here’s what we know and what we don’t.
When does Haikyu!! ALL Challengers launch, and how much does it cost?
As of October 2026, no release date has been officially announced. It’s free-to-play, with in-app purchases layered on top.
| Item | Details |
|---|---|
| Release date | TBA (unannounced as of October 2026) |
| Price | Free-to-play with in-app purchases |
| Supported devices | iPhone, iPad, Android |
| Genre | Simulation, sports |
| Developer | G2Studios |
| Publisher | TOHO Games (TOHO) |
| Pre-registration | Open on the App Store and Google Play since October 20, 2026 |
The key detail is that pre-registration lives on both the App Store and Google Play. Instead of a form on the official site, it uses the storefronts’ own pre-order functionality, so once you’re signed up the game simply drops onto your device at launch. Even if you miss the release announcement entirely, you won’t miss the game.
TOHO Games is TOHO’s game label, which means the company holding the film and stage rights to the source IP is standing in as publisher here. The rights line reads ©Haruichi Furudate / Shueisha, “Haikyu!!” Production Committee © TOHO CO., LTD.
What kind of game is it? What does the training sim actually involve?
The official line positions this as a “new training simulation game for smartphones.” You develop players, build your own team, and push toward the summit in matches.
How you develop them is up to you — the job is to read which stats to grow and plan your practice menu around that. This is almost certainly where the game lives. Volleyball is a sport where the demands on each position differ wildly, so the branching in your training should translate directly into a team with its own character.
Do you build a middle blocker into a pure blocking specialist, or dump everything into jumping and speed the way Hinata does? The more you know the manga, the stronger the itch to say “this is how I want this player raised.”
On the presentation side, you get newly drawn 2D animated motion and illustrations plus freshly recorded voice work. In other words, they didn’t just recycle existing assets. Training sims tend to involve long stretches of staring at numbers, so the plan is clearly to keep your energy up with movement and voices.
Which schools and characters are in it?
The official character page lists players from Karasuno High, Nekoma High, Shiratorizawa Academy, and Aoba Johsai High. The manga’s major schools are all accounted for.
| Player | School / Year | Position / Height |
|---|---|---|
| Shoyo Hinata | Karasuno High, 1st year | Middle blocker / 164.2cm |
| Tobio Kageyama | Karasuno High, 1st year | Setter / 181.9cm |
| Kei Tsukishima | Karasuno High, 1st year | Middle blocker / 190.1cm |
| Tadashi Yamaguchi | Karasuno High, 1st year | 180.0cm |
| Daichi Sawamura | Karasuno High, 3rd year | Wing spiker / 176.8cm |
| Wakatoshi Ushijima, Kenjiro Shirabu, Taichi Kawanishi | Shiratorizawa Academy | Listed on the official character page |
The heights being given to a tenth of a centimeter is a fun touch. Hinata’s 164.2cm and Tsukishima’s 190.1cm put about 26cm between them, and if that number feeds directly into the training systems, then two middle blockers would demand completely different development paths.
The official site has sections for systems and campaigns, but as of October 2026 they’re mostly images, with no concrete figures to pull on pre-registration reward tiers or the player-count milestones required to unlock them. That part is a wait-and-see.

Should you pre-register for Haikyu!! ALL Challengers now?
Here’s the rundown. Haikyu!! ALL Challengers is a smartphone training simulation from TOHO Games, with pre-registration opening October 20, 2026 on the App Store and Google Play. The release date is unannounced as of October 2026, it’s free-to-play with in-app purchases, G2Studios is developing, and it runs on iPhone, iPad, and Android.
It’s positioned as the first full-fledged training simulation for the Haikyu!! anime, packing newly drawn 2D animated motion and illustrations plus freshly recorded voice work. The schools on board are Karasuno High, Nekoma High, Shiratorizawa Academy, and Aoba Johsai High. Details on pre-registration rewards haven’t been revealed yet.
Neither the release date nor the reward list is out yet, but because pre-registration runs through the storefronts’ pre-order system, signing up costs you essentially nothing. TOHO, which owns the source IP, is standing in as publisher, the voice work is newly recorded, and the motion is newly drawn. Judging by where the money is going, this wasn’t built as a short-lived cash-in. There genuinely isn’t enough to judge it on yet, so registering and waiting for the next drop of information is the rational move.
If I can max out Hinata’s jump and nothing else, that alone is reason enough to boot it up.
