Final Fantasy VII Remake Intergrade is coming to Xbox Game Pass on October 29, 2026. It’s available on Xbox Series X|S, PC and Xbox Cloud Gaming across three plans — Game Pass Ultimate, Premium and PC Game Pass — and that includes FF7R EPISODE INTERmission, the bonus episode starring Yuffie. Xbox Wire made the announcement on October 20, 2026 (US time).

The Xbox Series X|S version of Intergrade only launched on January 22, 2026, with a standard price of US$36. Nine months later, it’s on the subscription. In Japan, Game Pass Ultimate costs US$10 a month and PC Game Pass US$8 a month following the April 2026 price revision, which means a single month is enough to see your way out of Midgar.

This article breaks down the arrival date and eligible plans, what’s included, how it stacks up against buying outright, the rest of the late-October lineup — including Mouthwashing, which lands the same day — and the titles leaving on October 31.

Let’s start with the date and the plans.

When can you play FF7 Remake Intergrade on Game Pass?

It goes live October 29, 2026 on Xbox Series X|S, PC and Xbox Cloud Gaming. Eligible plans are Game Pass Ultimate, Game Pass Premium and PC Game Pass; Xbox Wire’s announcement says nothing about how it’s handled on Essential.

Detail Info
Arrival date October 29, 2026
Platforms Xbox Series X|S / PC / Xbox Cloud Gaming
Eligible plans Game Pass Ultimate / Premium / PC Game Pass
Contents Main game + FF7R EPISODE INTERmission (Yuffie’s episode)
Xbox version release date January 22, 2026
Xbox version standard price US$36 (tax incl.)

Hitting Game Pass nine months after release is fast for a Square Enix tentpole. The company laid out a multiplatform strategy through the end of the trilogy back in 2025, and it has been using subscriptions as a way to widen the door on Xbox. The second game, Rebirth, has an Xbox version too, so the design here is clearly to funnel anyone who starts with Intergrade straight into the sequel.

What’s included in the Game Pass version?

Alongside the main Midgar campaign, FF7R EPISODE INTERmission — the episode led by Yuffie Kisaragi — is included in full. Intergrade is the version that added INTERmission to the PS4 remake and upgraded the graphics and performance, so what you get on Game Pass is the complete package.

INTERmission is a standalone episode built on the assumption you’ve finished the main game, and it runs roughly five hours. The tag-team action between Wutai ninja Yuffie and Sonon feels different from the main campaign, and that’s part of what “Intergrade” means. The Xbox version also carries the boost features, so if Game Pass is your first contact with the game, there’s no need to rush the main story.

Buy it outright or subscribe? Which is the better deal?

If you can finish the main game and INTERmission inside a month, Game Pass Ultimate at US$10 a month or PC Game Pass at US$8 a month comes in cheaper than the US$36 purchase. The catch is that you don’t keep it, so anyone who replays games or plans to follow the series to its conclusion will sleep better owning a copy.

Option Cost Best for
Game Pass Ultimate US$10/month (Japan, after the April 2026 revision) Playing on an Xbox console and in the cloud
PC Game Pass US$8/month (Japan, after the April 2026 revision) Playing on PC only
Buying it (Xbox standard edition) US$36 (tax incl.) Keeping it forever, replaying it
Buying it (Digital Deluxe) US$46 (tax incl.) Wanting the bonus content bundled in

Game Pass Premium’s monthly price in Japan isn’t spelled out in Xbox Wire’s price-revision post, so check Microsoft’s support page for that. The main game runs about 40 hours, and roughly 45 with INTERmission on top. If you’re confident you can sprint through it in a month, subscribe; if you only play on weekends, budget for two months and the gap against buying outright narrows sharply. Decide based on your own pace. I’m the type who can only find time on weekends, so honestly, I’m on the two-month plan.

What else is coming to Game Pass in late October?

October 29 brings more than Intergrade: Mouthwashing, the horror game sitting at “Overwhelmingly Positive” on Steam, arrives the same day alongside Plants vs. Zombies: Replanted and Terrible Lizards. Here’s the full list of additions from October 21 through November 3.

Date Title Platforms
October 21 Sandustry PC
October 22 Dodo Duckie Cloud / Xbox / PC
October 26 Scramble Knights Online Cloud / Xbox / PC (day one)
October 27 The Séance of Blake Manor Cloud / Xbox / PC
October 29 Final Fantasy VII Remake Intergrade Cloud / Xbox / PC
October 29 Mouthwashing Cloud / Xbox / Handheld / PC
October 29 Plants vs. Zombies: Replanted Cloud / Xbox / PC
October 29 Terrible Lizards Cloud / Xbox / PC (day one)
November 3 Pit of Goblin Cloud / Xbox / PC

Mouthwashing is a psychological horror game set aboard a wrecked spaceship with zero chance of rescue, and its console launch date doubles as its Game Pass date. Landing on the same day as Intergrade makes October 29 the single best day on the calendar this fall.

Which titles leave Game Pass on October 31?

Nine games exit on October 31, including Deep Rock Galactic, LEGO Star Wars: The Skywalker Saga and Grim Fandango Remastered. Football Manager 26 on PC also drops out of the catalog on November 10.

Deep Rock Galactic has been a Game Pass staple for years, so seeing it go was a surprise. There’s no finishing it in the few days left, so if you want to keep playing, grabbing it with the member discount is the practical move. Worth remembering that it departs two days after Intergrade arrives.

Recap: FF7 Remake Intergrade joins Game Pass

Final Fantasy VII Remake Intergrade joins Xbox Game Pass on October 29, 2026. It’s playable on Xbox Series X|S, PC and Xbox Cloud Gaming, on the Ultimate, Premium and PC Game Pass plans, with Yuffie’s INTERmission episode included. The Xbox version launched January 22, 2026 at a standard US$36 (tax incl.), while Ultimate runs US$10 a month in Japan and PC Game Pass US$8 a month. Mouthwashing and Plants vs. Zombies: Replanted arrive the same day, and nine titles including Deep Rock Galactic leave on October 31 (as of October 21, 2026).

SPOTGEEKS VERDICT

Adding it nine months after launch is Square Enix stating outright that it wants Xbox players along for the rest of the trilogy. If you can run it down in a month, US$10 is a steal; if you can’t, buying it is the safer bet. Either way, what’s arriving is the complete version with INTERmission attached, no question.

Forty hours of fighting your way out of Midgar, for US$10 a month. Starting October 29.
