Fall 2026 is shaping up to be a season where keeping up with the sequels takes more work than sampling the new shows. The third seasons are what really stand out. The Apothecary Diaries, Ranma ½, and As a Reincarnated Aristocrat, I’ll Use My Appraisal Skill to Rise in the World are all rolling into season 3, and all three premiere in the narrow window between the end of September and the first days of October.

Getting to a third season takes two things at once: enough source material left in the tank, and a production pipeline with the stamina to keep going. Seeing several shows clear that bar in the same season is proof that the last few years of planning anime with sequels already in mind is finally bearing fruit.

The catch is that the dates and the networks are scattered all over the place. Different terrestrial broadcasters, different start times, different streaming arrangements. Get your recording and time-shift plan wrong and you miss a premiere. So here’s the whole thing laid out, straight from the official announcements.

The one that moves first is Reincarnated Aristocrat: 12:00 a.m. on September 27, which is to say the dead of night on the 26th. If you’re reading this, the countdown has already started.

Which Fall 2026 Anime Are Third Seasons? Air Dates and Networks

Three titles have third seasons confirmed by official announcements.

Title Premiere Networks / Streaming
As a Reincarnated Aristocrat, I’ll Use My Appraisal Skill to Rise in the World season 3 Sunday, September 27, 2026, 12:00 a.m. CBC Television and 28 TBS network stations nationwide, in the “Agaru Anime” block; BS Nippon TV (Tuesdays); AT-X (Thursdays, from October 1)
The Apothecary Diaries season 3 Friday, October 2, 2026, 11:00 p.m. The Nippon TV network’s “FRIDAY ANIME NIGHT” block, on 30 stations nationwide
Ranma ½ season 3 Saturday, October 3, 2026, 24:55 (12:55 a.m. Sunday) Nippon TV, rolling out across the Nippon TV network; streaming exclusively on Netflix immediately after broadcast

All three cluster on the weekend: late Friday, late Saturday, and the small hours of Sunday. That’s a three-way split of the prime late-night anime real estate.

When Does The Apothecary Diaries Season 3 Air? What the Split Two-Cour Run Means

The Apothecary Diaries season 3 premieres Friday, October 2, 2026, at 11:00 p.m. in the Nippon TV network’s “FRIDAY ANIME NIGHT” block, airing on 30 stations nationwide.

According to the official site, season 3 is structured as a split two-cour run: the first cour starts in October 2026, and the second follows in April 2027. On top of that, the series’ first feature film is slated for December 2026, built around an original story based on a concept by the light novels’ author, Natsu Hyuuga.

The ending theme is “AIYOU” by Eve, and a second trailer is already out. The story pushes beyond the walls of the rear palace, with Maomao and Jinshi facing new trials, including omens of disaster and a mysterious shrine maiden.

This is about as good a setup as any show in the Japanese anime industry gets right now. Thirty terrestrial stations, a split two-cour order, and a movie wedged in between them. People were calling season 1 a hit while it was still airing, but I never expected the run-up to extend this cleanly.

Ranma ½ Season 3 Starts October 3, and the New Cast Additions Are Stacked

Ranma ½ season 3 begins Saturday, October 3, 2026, at 24:55 (12:55 a.m. Sunday) on Nippon TV, then rolls out across the Nippon TV network. It streams exclusively on Netflix immediately after broadcast.

Masako Nozawa, Jun Fukuyama, and Mayumi Tanaka have been announced among the cast additions. If reading that lineup instantly puts you back in the atmosphere of the original manga’s serialization, we’re probably the same age. For anyone who remembers the 1989 anime, the fact that a cast like this is being assembled in the 2020s still feels a little unreal.

Same-day streaming alongside the broadcast is a strong play, too. Netflix exclusivity narrows the number of doors, but if episodes go up right after airing, you don’t have to stay awake for them. Saturday at 24:55 is, frankly, a brutal slot.

As a Reincarnated Aristocrat, I’ll Use My Appraisal Skill to Rise in the World Season 3 Arrives at 12:00 a.m. on September 27

This is the earliest starter of the fall season. It premieres Sunday, September 27, 2026, at 12:00 a.m. on CBC Television and 28 TBS network stations nationwide, in the “Agaru Anime” block. From episode 2 onward the regular slot is Sundays at 11:30 p.m. BS Nippon TV picks it up on Tuesday, September 29 at 12:00 a.m., and AT-X on Thursday, October 1 at 10:30 p.m.

Per the official site, GeyeG Pictures is handling animation production, with Takao Kato directing and Daisuke Ohigashi on series composition. The cast lists Natsumi Fujiwara as Ars, Taito Ban as Rietz, Narumi Kaho as Charlotte, Miho Okasaki as Rosell, and Kana Hanazawa as Licia.

Not many isekai light novel adaptations actually make it to a third season. The more common story is a show that pops in season 1 and stalls out in season 2. This one got here because its hook — an appraisal skill, instantly legible to anyone — meshed neatly with the unhurried comfort of the territory-management material. It isn’t flashy. It survived on staying power rather than sharpness.

Sequel News: Drawing on a Dream Season 2 Is Officially in Production

Separate from the third-season crowd, there’s a fresh sequel announcement. Drawing on a Dream season 2 has been greenlit, and a commemorative visual is out.

Director Hiroaki Akagi and Shin-Ei Animation are both returning. No new staff or cast have been announced yet, and the announcement includes a comment from the manga’s creator, Minoru Toyoda. Alongside it, a Blu-ray release is set for December 13, 2026.

The broadcast window hasn’t been revealed. Still, an announcement that the entire production team is carrying over is close to a quality guarantee in itself. A series about the act of drawing manga got to keep going — that’s the part that really lands.

SPOTGEEKS VERDICT

Three third seasons landing in the same season means planning anime around sequels has become the default. The upside is obvious: shows that would once have been cut after season 1 now get to run their course. There’s a worry, too. The more sequels fill the schedule, the less room new titles have to squeeze into late-night terrestrial slots. All three of this season’s returnees still have plenty of source material in reserve, and none of them smell like they’re running out of gas. The setup around The Apothecary Diaries in particular — a split two-cour run plus a movie — is the most lavish arrangement going in Japanese anime right now. Which also means only a handful of titles a year ever get to operate at this level.

Three straight nights of weekend viewing. Go clear some space on the DVR while you still have time.
