The TV anime Love Live! Hasunosora Girls’ High School Idol Club has locked in a premiere date of January 10, 2027. It starts on TOKYO MX in the Sunday 22:30 slot, and a total of nine stations have been announced, including BS11, Sun TV, and KBS Kyoto.
The news broke during the Hasunosora livestream on October 18, titled “Welcome, 106th Class! New Cast Reveal and TV Anime Announcement Showcase.” Exactly as the name promises, that same stream also unveiled the three new first-years of the 106th class and the actors playing them. As an information rollout, it’s textbook execution.
Since launching in 2023, Hasunosora has run on 3D-animated activity records and a real-time progression of school “classes.” Now a TV anime sits on top of that. And the timing lines up precisely with the milestone of the 106th class enrolling. That placement is no accident.
Two things stand out: the nine-station lineup is a genuinely substantial footprint, and Fumiaki Maruto is on scripts. Working from what the official side has released, let’s walk through the broadcast schedule, the three new characters, and the production team in order.
When does the TV anime start? The full station and time slot list
The premiere is Sunday, January 10, 2027, on TOKYO MX, Sundays from 22:30. It also begins that same day on BS11, Sun TV, KBS Kyoto, TV Aichi, RKB Mainichi Broadcasting, and Shizuoka Broadcasting System.
| Station | Start date | Time slot |
|---|---|---|
| TOKYO MX | Sunday, January 10, 2027 | Sundays, 22:30 |
| BS11 | Sunday, January 10, 2027 | Sundays, 24:30 |
| Sun TV | Sunday, January 10, 2027 | Sundays, 23:30 |
| KBS Kyoto | Sunday, January 10, 2027 | Sundays, 24:00 |
| TV Aichi | Sunday, January 10, 2027 | Sundays, 25:20 |
| RKB Mainichi Broadcasting | Sunday, January 10, 2027 | Sundays, 25:20 |
| Shizuoka Broadcasting System | Sunday, January 10, 2027 | Sundays, 25:50 |
| Hokkaido Broadcasting | Monday, January 11, 2027 | Mondays, 25:29 |
| Hokuriku Broadcasting | Sunday, January 17, 2027 | Sundays, 16:00 |
The official site explicitly notes that air dates and times are subject to change, so it’s worth checking once after the new year. The interesting one is Hokuriku Broadcasting. Hasunosora is set at the private Hasunosora Girls’ High School in Kanazawa, Ishikawa Prefecture. The local station grabbing a 16:00 Sunday slot — the kind of window a whole family can watch together — is, I’d argue, a meaningful piece of placement given how tightly the show is tied to its real-world location.
On the flip side, it’s worth noting that its start date slips to January 17 and its time slot sits far outside everyone else’s. As for streaming platforms, there’s no official announcement as of October 2026.
Who are the three new 106th class students? Characters and voice cast
The three joining the roster are Maika Nishikigami, Aoi Reizawa, and Mion Shiwa, played by Juria Hoshimiya, Kana Asahi, and Kanae Yuasa respectively.
| Character | Voice actor | Personality |
|---|---|---|
| Maika Nishikigami | Juria Hoshimiya | Deeply clumsy, but kind at heart |
| Aoi Reizawa | Kana Asahi | A bright, meddlesome mood-maker |
| Mion Shiwa | Kanae Yuasa | A prankster with a love of magic shows |
Clumsy, meddlesome, prankster — that’s a smartly dealt hand. Because of the “activity record” format, Hasunosora is a work that runs on its characters’ imperfections as narrative fuel. Maika’s clumsiness is going to function as starting equipment for drama.
The key visual was released as a group piece for the 106th class, with the existing members firmly in frame. It reads as a statement of intent: build around the new first-years, but don’t sever the relationships already in place.
The returning cast includes Hina Sakurai (Ginko Momose), Fuuka Hayama (Kosuzu Kachimachi), Rin Kurusu (Hime Anyoji), Miu Miyake (Seras Yanagida Lilienfeld), and Amane Shindo (Izumi Katsuragi). With that line intact, everything built up across the 3D animated output carries straight over.
Who’s on the production team? The director and writing lineup
Go Kurosaki directs, Fumiaki Maruto writes, Haruko Iizuka handles character design, and Sublimation is the animation studio.
| Role | Staff |
|---|---|
| Original work / original concept | Hajime Yatate / Sakurako Kimino |
| Director | Go Kurosaki |
| Script | Fumiaki Maruto |
| Character design | Haruko Iizuka |
| Design works / art director | Yu Kisaragi / Yasuhiro Okumura |
| Stage concept art | Marina Manode |
| Color design / CG director | Hikari Komiya / Kaito Hamakawa |
| Director of photography / editing | Hiroji Tanaka and Fumika Takahashi / Manabu Jinno |
| Sound director / music | Keiichi Nozaki / Yoshiaki Fujisawa |
| Music production / animation production | Lantis / Sublimation |
| Planning and production / production | Sunrise / 2026 Project Love Live! Hasunosora Girls’ High School Idol Club |
Fumiaki Maruto in the writer’s chair is the single biggest takeaway here. He’s the kind of writer who builds the fine grain of a relationship through dialogue, which meshes beautifully with Hasunosora’s core structure of relationships inside a school shifting little by little. And composer Yoshiaki Fujisawa has carried the sound of the Love Live! series for years, so that’s a safe bet.
If I had to name a concern, it’s that they bothered to create a dedicated stage concept art credit. You can read that as a heavy bet on the density of the performance scenes — but flip it around and the visual showpieces may end up lopsided. That’s one to confirm once it’s actually airing.
Where it sits in the series, and what to follow before it airs
Hasunosora Girls’ High School Idol Club is the fifth entry in the Love Live! series. Set at the private Hasunosora Girls’ High School in Kanazawa, Ishikawa Prefecture, it has built itself around 3D-animated activity records.
There’s plenty happening before the premiere, too. Bloom Garden Party, the theatrical release that opened in May 2026, gets a 4DX run across 61 theaters nationwide starting October 23. Then on November 14 and 15, Vantelin Dome Nagoya hosts Love Live! Fes for the series’ 15th anniversary.
In other words, the TV anime isn’t dropping out of a clear sky. The plan is to raise the temperature with 4DX and the festival, then take it to broadcast television after the new year. The way this project is run is a long way from the media-mix playbook my generation grew up on. Streaming and live events run out front, and the TV anime gets positioned as the convergence point.

Summary: it starts January 10, 2027 — block out Sundays at 22:30 on TOKYO MX first
The TV anime Love Live! Hasunosora Girls’ High School Idol Club premieres Sunday, January 10, 2027. TOKYO MX airs it Sundays at 22:30, BS11 the same day at 24:30, Sun TV at 23:30, KBS Kyoto at 24:00, TV Aichi and RKB Mainichi Broadcasting at 25:20, and Shizuoka Broadcasting System at 25:50. Hokkaido Broadcasting starts Monday, January 11 at 25:29 on Mondays, and Hokuriku Broadcasting starts Sunday, January 17 at 16:00 on Sundays. Air dates and times are subject to change.
The three new 106th class first-years are Maika Nishikigami (voiced by Juria Hoshimiya), Aoi Reizawa (Kana Asahi), and Mion Shiwa (Kanae Yuasa). Go Kurosaki directs, Fumiaki Maruto writes, Haruko Iizuka handles character design, Sublimation animates, and Sunrise is behind the planning and production. The announcement came during the October 18 Hasunosora livestream, which also unveiled the 106th class group key visual.
Dropping the new first-years and a broadcast TV anime in the same stream means the project played its strongest card on the day it would land hardest. What I respect is the nine-station footprint, and local station Hokuriku Broadcasting taking a 16:00 Sunday slot makes perfect sense for a show set in Kanazawa. Picking Fumiaki Maruto for scripts also clicks into place for a series that runs on relationships.
The absence of streaming details is the one loose thread. …Still, clearing your Sunday 22:30 slot starting now costs you nothing.
