The offline version of Link!Like! Love Live! is shutting down on October 30, 2026 at 12:00. It goes offline on the App Store and Google Play at the same time. The online version already ended on June 30, 2026 at 12:00, so this closes the book on the app entirely.

Operator Odd Number announced the news on September 28. The “offline version” left standing after the online shutdown was essentially life support. Now even that has about a month left.

There’s one crucial caveat, though. If you log in before the shutdown time and finish downloading all of the game’s data, you’ll still be able to play the offline version afterward. Flip that around and it means this: one minute past 12:00 on October 30 and you’re out of options.

I’m always saying it’s fine for your faves to be 2D, but it’s a different story when the 2D vanishes along with the servers. So let’s lay out the deadlines and what you need to do before they hit.

When does the Link!Like! Love Live! offline version shut down?

The offline version goes down on October 30, 2026 at 12:00. It’s the same time on both the App Store and Google Play, and after that you won’t be able to download the app fresh or log in.

On top of that, new inquiries about reissuing your account-linking password stop being accepted at 12:00 on October 20. If you’re about to switch phones, or you’ve lost your account transfer details, don’t forget there’s a deadline that lands ten days before the shutdown itself.

Deadline What happens
June 30, 2026, 12:00 Online service ended (already past)
October 20, 2026, 12:00 New inquiries about account-linking password reissues stop being accepted
October 30, 2026, 12:00 Offline version delisted (App Store / Google Play)

I’ve seen plenty of mobile game shutdown notices, but “you can keep playing afterward, conditionally” is a genuinely rare format. Call it the last escape hatch the operators left open.

Why did the online version end? The road to bankruptcy proceedings

The online version shut down because operator Odd Number ran into a cash flow crisis. Service ended at 12:00 on June 30, 2026, and in August 2026 the company received a decision to commence bankruptcy proceedings.

Social game shutdowns can come down to simple unprofitability or an expiring licensing deal. This time the operating company itself stopped being viable, which makes the circumstances considerably heavier. The fact that the offline version is being wrapped up on an “a few more months” timetable is part of the same story.

As for paid items that can no longer be used in game, the official site has a page explaining refunds. If that applies to you, it’s worth checking before the shutdown too.

What should you do before the shutdown? Login and data download deadlines

There are only two things to do. Launch the app and log in before 12:00 on October 30, then finish downloading all of the game’s data. Do that and you can keep playing the offline version after the shutdown.

  1. Launch the app before 12:00 on October 30 (download it first if it isn’t installed)
  2. Complete the login
  3. Let the in-app data downloads run all the way to the end
  4. If you’re unsure about your account transfer details, submit an account-linking password reissue inquiry before 12:00 on October 20

After the shutdown you won’t be able to log in or download data at all. The nightmare scenario is your download stalling halfway because the device ran out of free space. The data isn’t small, so handle this with time to spare rather than scrambling on the day.

From my days as an otaku-shop clerk, I can tell you that these “download it before the deadline” situations always see a traffic crush on the final day. Better to get it done early at home on stable Wi-Fi than to panic somewhere with a weak connection. I took care of mine the night the announcement went up.

Link!Like! Love Live! shutdown information roundup

Here’s the recap. The Link!Like! Love Live! offline version shuts down on October 30, 2026 at 12:00, simultaneously on the App Store and Google Play. New inquiries about account-linking password reissues close at 12:00 on October 20. The online version already ended at 12:00 on June 30, 2026, and operator Odd Number received a decision to commence bankruptcy proceedings in August 2026.

If you complete your login and all of the data downloads before the shutdown time, you can keep playing the offline version afterward. Miss that window and the app becomes an ornament: it opens, but nothing inside it works. The task is simple, but the deadline is merciless.

SPOTGEEKS VERDICT

The operator’s bankruptcy is a grim ending, but leaving players a way to hold onto the content in the form of an offline version deserves credit. When the overwhelming majority of games take everything with them the moment service ends, a design where “logging in and finishing the download is all it takes to keep playing” is at least pointed in the player’s direction. The problem is that some people will absolutely hit October 30 without ever learning those conditions.

The deadline is October 30 at 12:00. Put it on your calendar and boot the app up tonight.
