$1,660,600. That is the final figure raised by the crowdfunding campaign to bring back Uta Macross. The backer count came in at 8,356. The campaign ran on CAMPFIRE from September 10, 2026 until 11:59 p.m. on October 31, 2026.
The goal was to release Uta Macross (Offline Edition), a buy-once title built on Uta Macross Sma-Pho De Culture, the smartphone rhythm game that shut down back in 2022. A game that went dark is coming back with the live-service machinery stripped out of it.
And because the campaign cleared its final stretch goal of $1.31 million, the offline edition is now also getting brand-new songs that were never in the live-service version. Those sit on top of the stretch goal unlocked at $654,000, so the tracklist grows twice over.
This article lays out the final total and backer count, what the offline edition includes, where the console version stands, and when you can actually play it. Every number here is reported exactly as it was officially announced.

How much did the Uta Macross revival project raise?
The final total was $1,660,600 from 8,356 backers. The campaign ran on CAMPFIRE starting September 10, 2026 and closed at 11:59 p.m. on October 31, 2026.
For a project built around reviving a shut-down mobile game, that scale is unusual, and that is putting it mildly. 8,356 people clearing $1.63 million works out to more than $196 per backer on simple arithmetic. A lot of people reached for the collector-tier rewards.
At 8 a.m. on October 31, the campaign reported that it had passed the final stretch goal of $1.31 million, locking in new songs that were never part of Uta Macross Sma-Pho De Culture. Those arrive in addition to the stretch goal already secured at $654,000, so the song count climbs again.
What content is included in the offline edition of Uta Macross?
The offline edition is a buy-once title that throws out the live-service plumbing, paid gacha and stamina meters included, and lets you play freely with whatever songstress, outfit and song you like.
Here is what the base package includes.
| Item | Details |
|---|---|
| Songs | 50 tracks (planned) |
| Plates | Over 1,000, mostly 4-star and above |
| Outfits | 20-plus per character |
| Gacha | Completely free, unlimited pulls |
Songs, plates and outfits that could not fit into the base package will be made available through several add-on DLC releases. This is a title packed with licensed music, so it is easy to see why cramming all of it into one box was never going to work.
That one line about the gacha being free with unlimited pulls defines the whole project. The single most soul-grinding part of a live-service rhythm game is negotiating with drop rates. Removing that from the start and then handing over 1,000-plus plates weighted toward 4-star and above is a direct answer to the players who stuck around for the shutdown.
Can you play it on PC? And what about the console version?
The platforms announced at the outset were smartphones (iOS and Android) and PC via Steam, and clearing a stretch goal has now greenlit a console version as well.
The catch is that the console release comes after the smartphone and PC versions. It is not a simultaneous launch, so adjust expectations accordingly.
For the PC version, the team says the design, originally built around smartphone touch input, will be optimized so that keyboard and mouse play feels comfortable too. Input handling is the single messiest part of porting a mobile rhythm game, so having it spelled out up front is reassuring. A Steam store page is already live and you can add the game to your wishlist.
When does the Uta Macross offline edition release?
The smartphone and PC versions of the offline edition are planned for release around spring 2027. As of November 2026 there has been no official announcement of a release window for the console version.
Roughly half a year out from the end of the campaign is a reasonable schedule for a project with an existing game to build on. That said, the new songs have been stacking up across multiple stretch goals, so the workload has to be larger than the original plan assumed. Take “around spring” at face value, with all the wiggle room that phrasing implies.

Uta Macross revival project: the key points
The numbers again. The final total was $1,660,600 from 8,356 backers. The campaign ran from September 10 to 11:59 p.m. on October 31, 2026, on CAMPFIRE.
The offline edition is buy-once, with no live-service systems, completely free gacha, 50 songs (planned), over 1,000 plates weighted toward 4-star and above, and 20-plus outfits per character. Anything that did not make the cut arrives through several add-on DLC releases. The smartphone and PC versions are planned for around spring 2027, with the console version following after that.

A mobile game that got switched off is coming back as a buy-once release with no microtransactions and no stamina meter. And it is doing it on $1,660,600. That result has quietly made visible just how many people want the time they poured into a live-service game returned to them in a form they can actually own. The line about free, unlimited gacha pulls says more about this project’s good faith than anything else in the pitch.
Between now and spring 2027, there should be just enough time to revisit every single outfit your favorite songstress ever wore.
