Game exhibitions have typically meant experiential events or merch-driven pop-ups, but this time the venue is the Ueno Royal Museum. That’s a different proposition entirely.
The Ueno Royal Museum sits in a corner of Ueno Park. It’s a venue that has hosted countless major special exhibitions from Japan and abroad, and the mere fact that a game series is getting an exhibition there tells you how serious Atlus is about this.

The recreated world areas deserve a mention too. The Velvet Room, Port Island, Junes in Inaba, the Phantom Thieves’ hideout — this series has no shortage of places that live in your memory as spaces. Which ones get recreated hasn’t been announced, but this is unquestionably the core draw.

The only thing locked in right now is the date and time of the announcement. Which, to be fair, is considerate in its own way. Specifying 7:00 PM suggests they’re planning either a live stream or a simultaneous announcement through the official X account.

Given how short that 18-day run is, you should factor in the possibility of advance tickets selling out with no same-day tickets available. Anyone planning to travel in will want to wait for the October 23 announcement before booking a hotel and shinkansen.

How Do You Get to the Ueno Royal Museum?
The Ueno Royal Museum is a three-minute walk from the Park Exit of JR Ueno Station and a five-minute walk from Tokyo Metro / Keisei Ueno Station. The address is 1-2 Ueno Park, Taito-ku, Tokyo.
It sits near the entrance side of Ueno Park, so there’s almost nothing to get lost over. Step out of the station, enter the park, and you’re basically there — an access advantage that quietly matters a lot at an exhibition expected to draw crowds. Spending less time waiting outdoors in winter is a real gift.
The area also clusters the Tokyo National Museum, the National Museum of Western Art and Ueno Zoo, which makes Ueno easy to build a full day around. And opening in late January means the New Year crush around Ameyoko has cleared out. It feels like they deliberately targeted a window when it’s easy to move around.
One concern worth raising. With an 18-day run that includes winter weekdays, students and working adults alike will struggle to line up their schedules. Crowds concentrating on Saturday and Sunday is a certainty, and whether you can take a weekday off will decide how comfortable your visit is.
