DAVE THE DIVER is getting a crossover DLC with the survival ocean-exploration game Subnautica 2, and it lands in early 2027. The announcement came during the Triple-i Initiative Showcase on October 9, 2026 Japan time.

Subnautica 2 is a survival game set in the oceans of an alien planet, built around encounters with unknown marine life. Whether those strange creatures turn into ingredients you can catch and serve, or into genuinely dangerous obstacles, is still to be revealed. Since the Steam version launched in June 2023, DAVE THE DIVER has put out crossover DLC with other properties on a regular basis. Line those collaborations up and it’s clear that Subnautica 2 is one of the most natural fits of the bunch, because both games are built around the sea.

Most of the previous crossovers followed the same shape: a character from a popular game in a different genre stops by for a visit. This one imports an entire setting instead, which means the Blue Hole’s dive areas and ecosystem could themselves be reworked. I’d expect this DLC to touch the main game more than any of the ones before it.
Where Subnautica 2 stands: a crossover announced before early access
Subnautica 2 is the sequel developed by Unknown Worlds and published by KRAFTON. It has been positioned for an early access launch during 2026, but moves surrounding the development team were reported in 2025, and the schedule has drawn plenty of attention since. A crossover DLC arriving in early 2027 means that, by that point at least, the creature and environment designs for Subnautica 2 are locked in.
