A new Girls und Panzer mobile game, Girls und Panzer: Boko-suka Rush, is officially in production. G Holdings put out the announcement on October 9, 2026, and the genre is a defense game. The short title is “Garusuka.”

The setting is the “Tank Simulator” attraction at the Boko Museum. Miho and Alice climb aboard, and Boko, the character both of them adore, shows up as the enemy. One sentence in and this is already pretty great.

You build tactics around the waves of enemies bearing down on you and combine tanks with crews to knock them out. Collect characters, level them up, and putting them in a tank raises that tank’s performance. It’s a defense game with Tankery’s team-building layered on top.

This article separates out what has actually been revealed about the game systems from what’s still unannounced. If you’re here for the release date and the price, I’ll give you the conclusion up front: neither exists yet.

What kind of game is Boko-suka Rush? Defense plus team-building

Boko-suka Rush is a defense game. You assemble tactics to counter the enemies pouring in, and you aim to destroy them with the right combination of tank and crew.

Item Details
Title Girls und Panzer: Boko-suka Rush
Short title Garusuka
Genre Defense game
Developer G Holdings
Platform In development as a mobile game
Setting The “Tank Simulator” attraction at the Boko Museum
Release date and price Unannounced as of October 2026
Pre-registration Unannounced as of October 2026 (details promised in a future update)

The structurally interesting part is that what you level up is the crew, not the tank. You collect your favorite characters, raise them, and loading them into a tank boosts that tank’s performance. Which means the same tank becomes a different weapon depending on who’s inside it.

That meshes properly with the logic the source material built up. Girls und Panzer’s tank battles are compelling not because of spec gaps between vehicles, but because crews flip bad matchups through judgment and coordination. If you’re going to squeeze that into a defense game, making the crew the variable is the most honest answer available.

So what exactly is this Boko that shows up as the enemy?

Boko is the character that Miho and Alice both happen to love. And in this game, that same Boko reportedly turns up as the enemy.

Miho and Alice have arrived at the one and only “Boko Museum.” And when they hop into the “Tank Simulator” attraction they find there, who should appear as an enemy but their beloved “Boko”!?

Your fave is the enemy. Worse, the one thing these two have in common comes charging at you. Viewed purely as a game, that’s an awfully strong hook for an opening. Boko has always functioned in the source material as the thing that gets beaten up over and over, so flipping the arrangement so that you’re the one firing is a reversal of cause and effect that genuinely made me laugh.

Honestly, I couldn’t work out at first what the “Boko-suka” in the title was referring to. If it’s “Boko-suka” because you blast away at Boko nonstop, then I’m a little worried about Miho Nishizumi’s emotional state.

When is the release date and pre-registration? Here’s what we know

As of October 2026, there has been no announcement of a release date, a price, or when pre-registration opens. The official line is that the game is “in active development,” with details on gameplay and pre-registration to be posted on the official site and official X account as they come.

The key visual is out, showing Miho and Alice against the Boko Museum, inviting you into a new world of Tankery. A trailer is out too. Put another way, what exists right now stops at visuals and concept. The monetization model and the platform specifics are both blank.

This is where I don’t want anyone miscalibrating. This is an announcement that production has begun, not a heads-up that release is imminent. There are plenty of examples of major titles in this series taking more than a year from announcement, so settling in and waiting for the next update is the right call.

What’s happening with Girls und Panzer right now? The das Finale Part 5 connection

Girls und Panzer is a fully original anime whose 12-episode TV series began airing in October 2012. It’s set in a world where “Tankery” is a cherished feminine art alongside flower arranging and tea ceremony, and high school girls stake their youth on it.

An OVA followed in 2014, and Girls und Panzer der Film arrived in 2015, becoming a massive hit that cleared 2.5 billion yen (about US$16.3 million, converted at 153 yen to the dollar) at the box office. Tsutomu Mizushima directed, Reiko Yoshida wrote every episode, and Humikane Shimada handled the original character designs.

The das Finale series that kicked off in 2017 has screened Parts 1 through 4. And the newest entry, Girls und Panzer das Finale Part 5, has been in theaters since October 9, 2026. Part 5 rolled out in all five formats at once: standard screenings plus the series’ first Dolby Cinema presentation, along with Dolby Atmos, 4DX, and MX4D.

Announcing Boko-suka Rush on October 9 means they timed it to das Finale Part 5’s opening day. The design is that you walk out of Part 5 and step straight into the app announcement. Aiming for the single day when the series runs hottest is, frankly, a smart move.

In summary: the confirmed facts on Boko-suka Rush

Girls und Panzer: Boko-suka Rush is a defense game in production at G Holdings. It’s set in the Boko Museum’s Tank Simulator, where you build tactics against incoming waves and go for kills through tank-and-crew combinations. Raising characters and assigning them as crew boosts the tank’s performance.

The release date, the price, and the pre-registration window are all unannounced as of October 2026. The game is described as in active development as a mobile title, with further details to be shared on the official site and official X account.

That same October 9 saw das Finale Part 5 open in all five formats, Dolby Cinema included. The series is now moving on both the theatrical and mobile fronts. I did not expect the next move after “Panzer vor!” to be a defense game, but if the design is the type that transforms based on crew composition, there’s reason to be optimistic.

SPOTGEEKS VERDICT

Putting the crew rather than the tank at the center of progression shows a correct read on what made Girls und Panzer’s tank battles work in the first place. Turning Boko into the enemy also converts a symbol from the source material into an actual gameplay motivation. On the other hand, the release date, price, and pre-registration are all unannounced, so the only thing you can judge right now is how sound the concept is.

Once you’ve steeled yourself to shoot your fave, wait for the next update.
