Phantom Blade Zero has cleared four million copies sold within 72 hours of its October 29, 2026 release. S-GAME announced the figure on its official X account on November 2, and it covers PS5 and PC (Steam, Epic Games Store) combined.

As of November 2, the game sits at 48,571 Steam user reviews, 89% of them positive, for a “Very Positive” rating. Its Metascore is 88, and SteamDB’s tracking puts peak concurrent players on Steam at over 830,000. The standard edition runs US$56 (tax included), with the Digital Deluxe Edition at US$65.

S-GAME said in the same announcement that it will roll out fix patches in response to bug reports from players. Physical PS5 editions are still planned for 2027 in three versions, which matches what was previously reported.

What follows is a breakdown of where those four million copies moved, what the reception actually looks like, the price and platforms, and what comes next. The pitch was always that this is what it feels like to directly control a kung fu movie — and now the numbers back it up.

Start with how it sold.

How far did Phantom Blade Zero get in 72 hours? Four million copies and 830,000 concurrents on Steam

According to S-GAME, Phantom Blade Zero sold four million copies in the 72 hours after launch. The PS5 and PC split has not been disclosed.

The Steam side is where the usable data lives. SteamDB’s tracking has peak concurrent players hitting 833,921. Clearing 800,000 concurrents with a single-player action game puts this in the same territory as Black Myth: Wukong in 2024, and it makes the pattern visible all over again: a Chinese AAA release building its numbers on the back of its home market.

There is no official regional breakdown. Figures from the estimate site Gamalytic, cited by GameSpark, put roughly 79% of Steam players in China, about 4.5% in the United States, and about 2.1% in Hong Kong. Those are estimates, but assuming most of the four million moved in China is unlikely to be far wrong.

How is it reviewing? An 88 Metascore and 48,000 Steam reviews at 89% positive

The Metascore is 88, and Steam shows 89% positive across 48,571 reviews. Clearing 48,000 reviews four days after launch is unusual on its own: most of the people who bought it played it immediately and wrote about it immediately.

Phantom Blade Zero gets filed next to the soulslikes, but the developers have said over and over that this is an action game built to reproduce the movement of kung fu cinema. The protagonist is a swordsman with a mortal wound to the heart, chasing a conspiracy through the martial world with 66 days of life left. A design that breaks enemies down through parries and chained strikes feels fundamentally different from a game built on dying until you learn. The crowd landing on the positive side of Steam, I’d argue, is the crowd that can feel that difference while playing.

On the other side of the ledger, S-GAME has said it will ship fix patches as bug reports come in. The 11% of negative reviews almost certainly includes performance complaints. If you’re tracking the reception, there’s no harm in waiting to see how it moves after the patches land.

How much is Phantom Blade Zero and where can you play it? US$56, PS5 and PC

The standard edition is US$56 (tax included) and the Digital Deluxe Edition is US$65 (tax included). It runs on PS5 and PC, with the PC version available on Steam and Epic Games Store. The release date was October 29, 2026, and Japanese language support is included.

What happens next? Fix patches and physical PS5 editions in 2027

Alongside the four-million announcement, S-GAME said it will roll out bug-fix patches based on player feedback. Release dates and patch contents have not been announced as of November 2026.

Physical PS5 editions are still slated for 2027 in three versions, unchanged from the pre-launch information in October. The game is also on the GOTY shortlist for the Golden Joystick Awards 2026, where voting closed the day after release, so how a 72-hour four-million figure plays into that ballot is worth watching.

To sum up: four days after launch, Phantom Blade Zero has lined up three numbers — four million copies, an 88 Metascore, and 89% positive on Steam. The bulk of that is carried by the depth of the Chinese market, but the goal of translating kung fu movie choreography into a game has clearly landed worldwide.

In summary: Phantom Blade Zero hit four million copies in 72 hours and is out now on PS5 and PC for US$56

Phantom Blade Zero cleared four million copies within 72 hours of its October 29, 2026 release, as announced by S-GAME on its official X account on November 2. Steam shows 48,571 reviews at 89% positive, the Metascore is 88, and SteamDB’s tracking put peak concurrent players on Steam at 833,921. The standard edition is US$56 and the Digital Deluxe Edition is US$65, available now on PS5 and PC (Steam, Epic Games Store). Fix patches will roll out in sequence, and three physical PS5 editions are planned for 2027.

SPOTGEEKS VERDICT

Most of those four million copies are almost certainly Chinese. It doesn’t matter: 48,000 people writing Steam reviews with 89% of them positive is a heavy fact in any territory. A game that spent its whole pre-launch cycle being discussed in soulslike terms is, post-launch, being judged on what it was actually selling — the ability to operate kung fu movie choreography yourself. Depending on how the patches go, it should stay in contention at the end-of-year awards.

Four million people are swinging a sword on 66 days of borrowed life. This momentum isn’t stopping before the year is out.
