Dai Akugyaku Reijo: Strategy of Lily, a turn-based strategy game whose Japanese title reads roughly as “The Grand Treasonous Noblewoman,” arrives on Nintendo Switch 2 and PlayStation 5 on December 3, 2026. The price is US$22 (tax included), matching the Steam version. Alliance Arts publishes it, and Switch 2 preorders opened alongside the October 29 announcement.

Strategy of Lily follows Scarlett, a duke’s daughter framed for the murder of the emperor, who raises a banner of revolt against the Empire as humanity’s first streamer, with a mysterious girl named Lily at her side. Three things set it apart: you capture enemy commanders rather than kill them and bring them over to your side, you manage logistics and supply lines, and you wield a map weapon called the Streaming Ship. More than a year after its July 24, 2025 Steam launch, it still holds a “Very Positive” rating.

To mark the console release, an update will add collaboration costumes drawn from Alliance Arts’ own Yunyun Denpa Syndrome and PUKEY GODDESS SHOT TRICK. The PC version gets them too.

This article covers the release date and price, how the Streaming Ship system actually works, the collab costumes, and where the Steam version’s reception stands. I am partway through the Steam version on my Steam Deck, and I have hit a dead end twice after having my supply lines cut. If you want to play this handheld, the Switch 2 version looks like a very good call.

*Prices in this article are converted from Japanese yen at ¥153 = US$1 (November 2026 rate).

Let’s start with the numbers.

The Switch 2 and PS5 versions both launch on December 3, 2026 at US$22 (tax included). Switch 2 preorders have been open on the Nintendo eShop since October 29, and the PS5 version has a product page on the PlayStation Store.

There is no word on a physical edition as of November 2026. The official announcement also says nothing about whether a Digital Deluxe edition is coming to consoles, so it is best not to assume the lineup will mirror the Steam version.

On the staff side, Rorua handled the main character designs, Uni Akiyama wrote the music, and Masked D directed. Anyone who has played the Steam version will have noticed how much of the combat’s tempo comes from Akiyama’s score.

What is the Streaming Ship? A turn-based strategy game where you capture enemy commanders instead of killing them

The Streaming Ship is a map weapon with Lily as its captain, and it is unique to this game: it pushes a live stream out across the battlefield, which is what allows enemy commanders to be captured. Victory does not come from defeating those commanders but from capturing or executing them. Capture every one of them and you head toward the happy ending; choose execution and Scarlett gains darker power, but the story and the characters develop differently.

The other pillar is logistics. A unit cannot fight unless it is connected by a supply line, and if the enemy severs that line, your front-line units are left stranded. Alliance Arts’ official page describes the game as “a high-difficulty title where supply line management is the key,” and that is what separates it from the usual villainess fare.

Relationships between characters feed into combat as well. Pair two units in battle and their trust grows, and past a certain threshold a Unison Skill unlocks. Working your way across a voxel-art continent, the real game is deciding who to pair with whom.

Element Details
Streaming Ship A map weapon with Lily as its captain. Its live stream is what makes capturing enemy commanders possible
Capture / Execution The win condition. Capture everyone for the happy ending; execution grants power but changes the story
Supply lines Units need a supply line. Cut it and they are stranded
Unison Skills Special moves unlocked by fighting in pairs and raising trust
Setting A continent rendered in voxel art

The run where I got stuck was the one where I fixated on capturing everyone, stretched my front line too far, and had two supply lines cut at the same time. Capturing all of them is the ideal, but reaching it means keeping units behind to protect logistics. A game that pairs a villainess premise with the drab, unglamorous work of managing supply is odd, and that oddness is exactly the appeal.

Which collab costumes are coming? Yunyun Denpa Syndrome and PUKEY GODDESS SHOT TRICK

The update timed to the console release gives Lily the “Q-chan Dress” from Yunyun Denpa Syndrome and Scarlett the “Femme Seule Dress” from PUKEY GODDESS SHOT TRICK. Both are crossovers with other Alliance Arts titles, and both are coming to the PC version as well.

Yunyun Denpa Syndrome is a game the same company is actively promoting as on sale now, and PUKEY GODDESS SHOT TRICK is also one of its titles. Since these are in-house IPs being dropped into an in-house strategy game, there is little risk of the costumes vanishing over a licensing issue. The rollout is described only as “timed to the console release,” so whether it happens on December 3 itself needs official confirmation.

How is the Steam version rated? 85 percent positive across 1,567 reviews, “Very Positive”

As of November 2, 2026, 85 percent of the Steam version’s 1,567 reviews are positive, and it is rated “Very Positive” both recently and all-time. It launched on July 24, 2025, so it has held that standing for more than a year.

What reviews keep coming back to is how tough the combination of the capture system and logistics is, and how well the story earns that toughness. The difficulty is high, and the developers themselves describe it as “a high-difficulty title.” Put the other way, players who have not spent much time with strategy games and come in through the Switch 2 version may find the supply line concept bewildering early on.

Note that the Steam version is 30 percent off at US$15 at the time of writing, though we have not been able to confirm the sale’s end date. If you plan to play on Steam, it may well be cheaper now than it will be once the console versions arrive. If you want it handheld, or you want to see that voxel continent on a big screen via PS5, the console versions are worth the wait.

Summary: Strategy of Lily arrives December 3 at US$22, with Switch 2 preorders open now

The Nintendo Switch 2 and PS5 versions of Dai Akugyaku Reijo: Strategy of Lily launch on December 3, 2026 at US$22 (tax included), and Switch 2 preorders are open. Alliance Arts publishes it, and it supports seven languages including Japanese. The heart of the game is deciding whether to capture or execute enemy commanders, how to defend your supply lines, and how to use the Streaming Ship. Timed to the console release, collab costumes from Yunyun Denpa Syndrome and PUKEY GODDESS SHOT TRICK are being added, including on PC. The Steam version is “Very Positive” at 85 percent of 1,567 reviews, and is 30 percent off at US$15 as of this writing.

SPOTGEEKS VERDICT

You walk in through the villainess door and come out the supply-line exit. Whether you find that gap funny decides how you rate this game. The fact that 1,567 Steam reviews land at 85 percent positive is evidence that plenty of people did find it funny. For a Steam Deck player like me, the Switch 2 version is the one that fits best, because it lets you sit and stare at logistics in handheld mode. December 3 is also Dragon Quest Monsters 4 day, so start negotiating with your wallet early.

If you are going for the capture-everyone happy ending, put a unit in the rear to guard your supply first. That is the only advice I have.
