Bandai Namco Entertainment announced Gundam Blitz Order, a new smartphone title, on October 15, 2026. It is an idle simulation game in which you build a force out of Mobile Suits, battleships, and Mobile Armors and send it into battle, and it will be distributed free to play with optional in-app purchases on iOS and Android. The launch date is undecided.
Ahead of that, a network test runs from 2:00 p.m. on November 18, 2026 to 1:59 p.m. on November 24. There are 2,500 slots, and applications are being taken through a form on the official site until 11:59 a.m. on October 26.
The official site says an idle game is a first for the Gundam series. This article lays out how the idle systems actually work, the six classes and EX Skills, and the application requirements for the network test.
- The first idle Gundam game, with auto battles banking up to 24 hours of upgrade materials
- Six classes, Guardian, Assault, Charge, Artillery, Sniper and Support, plus EX Skills
- The network test runs November 18 to 24 for 2,500 players, with applications open until October 26
- Launch date and which series appear: what is known right now
First, what idle actually means here.
What is Gundam Blitz Order? The first idle simulation game in the Gundam series
Gundam Blitz Order, nicknamed Gunbli, is described in the development diary on the official site as a title that takes on a new genre for Gundam games. It is an RPG-style idle simulation where you collect and upgrade units, then weigh each unit’s combat style as you tune your formation and fight.
The idle side is handled by a battle mode that is always ticking along on its own. The Mobile Suits you assign fight automatically and bring back upgrade materials for you. Up to 24 hours’ worth of those materials is held, so collecting once at some point during the day means nothing is wasted. The development team says automatic material gathering is a benefit even for people who are not used to idle games.

The other half, the modes that ask you to actually play and strategize, is the real heart of the game. Quests include brutal boss fights and missions where you escort a battleship toward a destination. Outside of battle there is Mobile Suit development, plus collecting items that appeared in the source works.
How do classes and EX Skills work? Six types: Guardian, Assault, Charge, Artillery, Sniper and Support
Units carry a class that expresses what they are good and bad at, and there are six in all: Guardian, Assault, Charge, Artillery, Sniper and Support. The Gundam itself, for instance, belongs to the Guardian class. Guardians have high defensive performance and take the role of absorbing enemy attacks so the rest of your units can play to their strengths. In combat, choosing units with class matchups in mind and deciding where to place them is the key to winning.
| Class | Role (as described on the official site) |
|---|---|
| Guardian | Absorbs enemy attacks with high defensive performance; the Gundam is in this class |
| Assault | — |
| Charge | — |
| Artillery | — |
| Sniper | — |
| Support | — |
As of October 16, 2026, Guardian is the only class whose role the official site spells out in detail. Details on the other five are expected to surface in follow-up development diary posts.
Each unit has its own skills, and EX Skills in particular are powerful enough to swing the course of a fight. Once a set amount of time has passed, you can trigger them whenever you want. Flip on auto mode and the game picks the target or location and fires them the moment they are available. You can switch that setting at any point mid-battle, so idle and manual play can trade places inside a single fight.
EX Skills come with their own dedicated animations when they fire. That is where my interest sits, honestly: which units got the most lavish animations tells you which series the operators intend to push.
When is the network test? November 18 to 24, 2,500 players, applications until October 26
The network test runs from 2:00 p.m. on November 18, 2026 to 1:59 p.m. on November 24. There are 2,500 slots, and the application form on the official site is open from 12:00 p.m. on October 15, 2026 to 11:59 a.m. on October 26.
| Item | Date and details |
|---|---|
| Application window | October 15, 2026, 12:00 p.m. to October 26, 11:59 a.m. |
| Test period | November 18, 2026, 2:00 p.m. to November 24, 1:59 p.m. |
| Slots | 2,500 players (planned) |
| How to apply | Application form on the official site |
| Test content | The basic game cycle, including squad formation, standard battles, boss fights and battleship escort battles |
What you can play in the test is the basic game cycle: squad formation and standard battles, plus boss encounters and battles where you escort a battleship toward the goal. The real launch date is set to be decided after the test, and there is no official announcement as of October 2026.
What about the launch date and the series involved? What is known as of October 2026
As of October 2026 there is no official announcement on the launch date. The network test falls in late November, so the full service will follow once those results are in.
On which series show up, the official site says that a large number of Mobile Suits, battleships and Mobile Armors from across the Gundam series will appear, without naming any specific works. The one example used in the class explanation is the Gundam, and the copyright lines credit Sunrise and Sunrise MBS. That MBS credit suggests MBS-produced Gundam works are included, but the actual titles are waiting on follow-up news.

In summary: Gundam Blitz Order is an idle game, and the network test starts November 18
Gundam Blitz Order, announced on October 15, 2026, is an idle simulation for iOS and Android that is free to play, with the launch date still undecided. Auto battles gather upgrade materials and can hold up to 24 hours’ worth. Units are divided across six classes, Guardian, Assault, Charge, Artillery, Sniper and Support, and EX Skills can be toggled between manual and automatic. The network test runs from 2:00 p.m. on November 18, 2026 to 1:59 p.m. on November 24, with 2,500 slots, and applications close at 11:59 a.m. on October 26.
An idle game is a first for Gundam, and automatic material gathering with a 24-hour buffer is a design aimed at people who cannot be glued to their phone every day. Between six-class matchups and EX Skills that toggle between manual and auto, both idle and hands-on play fit inside a single battle. The weak spot right now is the lack of named series, because which Mobile Suits end up on the roster will swing the verdict in a big way.
For an idle game, those 2,500 slots are very much first come, first served.
