Japanese preorders for the Grand Theft Auto VI collector's box, Grand Theft Auto VI: The Goodtime State – Vice City Collection, opened at noon on October 30, 2026 at e-Capcom. It costs about US$653 (tax included), and it ships on the same day as the game itself, November 19, 2026. Inside are 11 items including a Macca the Gator figure, a pair of Oakley sunglasses and a New Era cap. The game is not included.

This is Rockstar Games official merchandise distributed exclusively in Japan through Capcom's own online store, in limited quantities. At roughly US$650 with no game in the box, the audience is narrow by definition. Which is exactly why you want to know what those 11 items are, and what each one would cost you on its own, before you decide.

This article goes through the full 11-item breakdown, who Macca the Gator actually is, the preorder and release conditions, and what the damage looks like once you add the game itself.

*Prices in this article are converted from Japanese yen at ¥153 = US$1 (September 2026 rate).

Let us start with what is in the box.

What is inside the Vice City Collection?

One figure, two apparel pieces (sunglasses and a cap), one bag, two pieces of barware (a shot glass and a bar spoon) and five small goods (a keychain, a pin set, a mirror, stickers and a poster) add up to 11 items. The game itself is not included.

# Item Details
1 Macca the Gator figure Includes a hidden compartment you open by twisting the base. Depicts him enjoying a cigarette and a Flamingo Blood Martini
2 Oakley Frogskins sunglasses Matte black frame, Prizm Sapphire lenses, GTA VI logo in Vice City pink
3 New Era 9FORTY snapback cap Vice City Leonida embroidery and patch
4 Leonida Keys crossbody bag Ripstop fabric, black and pink lining, YKK zippers
5 Chunky the Manatee shot glass Manatee on the front, Rockstar Games logo laser-etched on the base
6 Vice City razor keychain Metal, embossed with the GTA VI and Vice City logos
7 Vice City Collection bar spoon Decorative spoon with an enamel Vice City logo
8 Leonida Keys enamel pin set Nine pins packed in a metal tin
9 Macca the Gator magnetic mirror Pink electroplated glass that works as a tray or hangs on a wall via magnet
10 Leonida Keys sticker pack Nine vinyl stickers in a sleeve
11 Leonida souvenir poster Double-sided print. A topographic map on one side, artwork on the other

What jumps out about this lineup is that two of the items are licensed collaborations with real brands, Oakley and New Era. Frogskins are a staple model that runs around US$130 on their own, and a 9FORTY collab cap goes for about US$33. If you figure the figure plus those two pieces are worth a bit over US$195, then you are paying close to US$460 for the remaining eight items. How you feel about that is the whole decision.

Put another way, this is an assortment of lifestyle goods for soaking in the game's world, not a document of it. There is no steelbook, no art book, no soundtrack, none of the staples you usually find in a collector's box. Nobody should buy this for reference value. The closest comparison is buying a boxed set of Vice City tourist souvenirs.

Who is Macca the Gator?

Macca the Gator is a character from a hit television show that airs in Leonida, the state where GTA 6 is set. He is an alligator mascot, and the entire collector's box is themed around his program.

The GTA series has a tradition of building out fictional TV shows and radio stations to thicken its worlds, from Weazel News in GTA V to Republican Space Rangers in GTA IV. Macca the Gator sits in that lineage, a symbol of Leonida's local culture introduced in the trailers, and Rockstar went to the trouble of making him a figure. The fact that he is headlining the merchandise before the game is even out tells me he gets a fair amount of screen time in the main story.

Calling it a hit show before the game has launched is the official positioning rather than anything players have made popular yet. This strikes me as the kind of merchandise whose meaning changes once you have played the game. The order of operations is: it arrives on release day, you catch Macca's program in-game, and then it clicks.

What are the preorder and release conditions? Quantity and where to buy

Preorders have been open at e-Capcom since noon on October 30, 2026. Japanese sales are e-Capcom exclusive and limited in quantity. The release date is November 19, 2026, the same day as GTA 6 itself. The price is about US$653 (tax included).

Capcom is handling distribution of Rockstar's official merchandise, making this the Japanese edition of a product sold overseas through Rockstar Warehouse, the official store. It does not mean Capcom has become the Japanese publisher of GTA 6. The two go through completely separate channels, so buying the box at e-Capcom still leaves you buying the game itself for PS5 or Xbox Series X|S.

The actual number behind limited quantity has not been disclosed. e-Capcom exclusives have a habit of closing preorders within a few hours of opening, so if you genuinely want one, the realistic plan is to be parked at your keyboard at noon.

What does it cost with the game? Should you buy it?

GTA 6 launches on November 19, 2026 from about US$64. Combine that with the collector's box and you are at about US$718. The box has no game in it, so you need both before you have anything resembling a GTA 6 collector's edition.

The people who should buy this are the ones who were already prepared to buy the Oakley and New Era collaborations individually, the ones who have collected GTA merchandise for years, and the ones who want a Macca the Gator figure on a shelf. Anyone after setting materials or the music is in the wrong place. None of that is in here.

My own verdict: roughly US$650 for sunglasses, a cap, a figure and some household trinkets is expensive. That said, more GTA 6 merchandise will surely follow, but an official box that arrives on the game's release day happens exactly once. Only buy it if scarcity is enough to justify the price for you. My faves can stay 2D, thanks, but I do kind of want that Macca figure.

Summary: the GTA 6 Vice City Collection is about US$653, 11 items, game sold separately

Grand Theft Auto VI: The Goodtime State – Vice City Collection has been open for preorder exclusively at e-Capcom since noon on October 30, 2026, priced at about US$653 (tax included), shipping on November 19, 2026 alongside the game. The 11 items are a Macca the Gator figure, Oakley Frogskins sunglasses, a New Era 9FORTY cap, a crossbody bag, a shot glass, a bar spoon, a keychain, a pin set, a magnetic mirror, stickers and a poster. The game is sold separately and quantities are limited. Add the roughly US$64 game and the total comes to about US$718.

SPOTGEEKS VERDICT

Roughly US$650 with no game in the box is an aggressive ask, but with two licensed collaborations with real brands inside, there is more substance here than in the usual limited edition full of boxes and paper. More GTA 6 merchandise will keep coming. An official box that lands on release day comes around once. That is the only reason to buy.

Preorder the game first. The box is a conversation for whoever made it to noon in time.
