Kotobukiya has opened preorders for its 1/7 scale figure of Vector in her Tactical Bunny Ver. outfit from Girls’ Frontline 2: Exilium. The price is 23,100 yen (tax included), overall height is roughly 270mm including the base, and release is slated for May 2027. Sculpting and design are by SHINKAI CREATE, with production cooperation from KOTOBUKIYA (confirmed on the official Kotobukiya Shop listing, as of September 2026).

Bunny-suit figures are hardly a novelty in 2026. I see a shelf full of them every single week in Akihabara. But this one has a single trick that genuinely sets it apart from the pack.

The bunny-ear headband comes off. And here’s the kicker: those ears don’t exist on the in-game skin at all. They were added purely for the figure. Which means this release lets the buyer choose between “faithful to the game” and “dialed up for display” — a decision Kotobukiya handed to you instead of making it for you.

The figure was first announced on August 12, 2025. Painted prototype photos went public alongside the start of retailer preorders on September 8, 2026 — meaning this project sat on the shelf for well over a year between reveal and order day.

How much is Vector Tactical Bunny Ver.? Full spec sheet

23,100 yen including tax. For a 1/7 scale bishoujo figure, that sits near the top of the range rather than the middle.

The line worth staring at is “acrylic, metal rod” in the materials row. Unlike a piece built from nothing but PVC and ABS, using metal in the support structure is a tell: this pose puts real load on the armature. And 270mm is big even by 1/7 standards, so measure your shelf clearance before you click order. Trust me on this one — I have already learned that lesson the expensive way.

Do the bunny ears come off? Breaking down the swap parts

Yes, they come off. Swapping the hair parts lets you display her either with the bunny-ear headband on, or without the ears exactly as she appears in game.

As noted above, those ears aren’t part of the in-game skin at all. Kotobukiya added them specifically for the figure. If you’re the purist type who wants source accuracy, leave them off; if you want the full bunny fantasy, clip them on. Giving buyers both options was, frankly, a smart call.

On the sculpt itself, nothing got trimmed for cost: the submachine gun, the knife, and the pouch rig are all present. You can see in the painted prototype photos that the glossy sheen of the bunny suit, the skin tones, and the flat matte finish on her gear are all painted as distinct surfaces. Her expression isn’t the usual cool, composed Vector either — she looks visibly embarrassed. Given that the official product copy reads “Commander… what exactly is this outfit supposed to be for?”, that face makes complete sense.

I’m a full-paint, no-modification purist when it comes to Gunpla, so my bar for spending money on a finished figure is simple: could I get this range of surface textures myself? The gap between the shine on that bunny suit and the grain on the equipment would be brutal to pull off by hand. This is one of those times I just take the L and buy the thing.

Who is Vector? The character behind the figure

Vector is a limited SSR doll in Girls’ Frontline 2: Exilium and serves as captain of Squad 2 within H.I.D.E. 404. Her weapon class is SMG, and in combat she functions as a fire-element support and debuffer.

The official material lists three “doll keywords” for her. First: as Squad 2 captain of H.I.D.E. 404, she fights alongside her subordinates to the bitter end. Second: she’s socially awkward and can’t make eye contact when she talks to you. Third: her drawings are so idiosyncratic that nobody can tell what they’re supposed to be. Loading a squad captain up with those traits is a deliberate design choice, not an accident.

Her name comes from the real-world KRISS Vector, a submachine gun with a genuinely bizarre silhouette built around the “Kriss Super V” system that redirects recoil downward. The Girls’ Frontline series is built on gun personification at its core, so once you know the origin, the shape of the gear on this figure starts to read differently.

She’s also a returning character — she appeared in the original Girls’ Frontline as No. 020, a 5-star SMG. 2: Exilium is a 3D tactical RPG that launched in Japan on December 5, 2024, set roughly ten years after the first game, developed by Sunborn (Shanghai Sunborn Network Technology). The longer you’ve been a Commander, the more this particular figure is going to land.

When do preorders close? Deadlines and exclusive bonus

Kotobukiya Shop states that any order placed by November 10, 2026 is guaranteed to be fulfilled. After that date, orders stay open only until the allocation runs out, with no firm final cutoff announced. In practical terms, November 10 is your safety line.

Order through Kotobukiya Shop — the physical stores or the online shop — and you get an exclusive bonus: an alternate face part. Orders are capped at three units per person. This is a general-retail release, so AmiAmi, Rakuten Books, Amazon and DMM.com are all taking preorders too, but that face part is available only through Kotobukiya’s own channels.

An alternate face is the single part that most changes how a figure reads on the shelf. If you’re spending 23,100 yen, going direct is the safer play. Individual cutoff dates for the other retailers had not been published as of September 2026.

Now the downsides. Release is May 2027 — a full eight months after preorders opened. Figure delays are routine, and yes, your money isn’t locked up the whole time, but this is the kind of purchase that lands on your doorstep long after you’ve forgotten you made it. The base design and whether any cast-off feature exists are both still unannounced. If those matter to you, waiting for more info costs you nothing.

SPOTGEEKS VERDICT

23,100 yen is not cheap. But at 270mm tall, with acrylic and a metal rod on top of the usual PVC and ABS, and with the full equipment loadout sculpted rather than simplified away, you are getting material for your money. The deciding factor is the removable bunny-ear headband: the buyer gets to toggle between source accuracy and figure-scale flourish. If you order through Kotobukiya Shop, November 10 is the safe cutoff, and you pick up the direct-only alternate face part. On the other hand, release is all the way out in May 2027, and the base design and cast-off question remain unannounced. If either of those matters, waiting for the next update is perfectly reasonable.

Making those ears removable shows real respect for the buyer. That one detail alone is enough for me to trust this release.
