WAVE has thrown open its official gallery for the 64th All Japan Model & Hobby Show, running at Tokyo Big Sight from October 2 to 4, 2026, and the haul is 17 new plastic model kits plus 14 new tools and materials. The headliners: the 1/24 Scopedog Round Mover [Melkian Forces Color] (est. 11,000 yen, about US$72, converted at 153 yen = US$1; late November 2027), the Scopedog Turbo Custom [DX] (14,080 yen, about US$92; late November 2026), the Ma.K. Owl (4,620 yen, about US$30; late March 2027), the 1/100 VF-1D Valkyrie, the 1/72 Promachis G (7,480 yen, about US$49; January 2027) and the SV-002 Metal Slug Unit 2 (2027). Only seven of those have a locked-in price and release window; the rest are still sitting on “price TBA” or “in planning.” This article lays out every single item with the price, release window and spec detail printed on WAVE’s own display panels, in one master table plus item-by-item breakdowns.
Honestly, you can’t file this year’s WAVE lineup under “VOTOMS party” and call it a day. The 1/24 VOTOMS line is getting the Melkian Scopedog from episode 1, a four-kit Battle of Sunsa set from the OVA Roots of Ambition has been floated as a project, and over on the Ma.K. side, Super Jerry is coming back after 12 years. Then Metal Slug’s 30th anniversary piles on with model kits of the “phantom” Unit 2 and the Black Hound.
At the same time, a lot of this stuff has no price and no release date, and if you don’t separate “get your wallet out now” from “you can safely ignore this until 2027,” it all blurs together. That’s exactly the split this article is here to draw.
- The full price and release-window table for all 17 new WAVE kits
- Five new VOTOMS kits: Melkian Forces Color, Turbo Custom DX, Fatty, Battle of Sunsa 4-pack and Leeman’s machine
- Five new Ma.K. items: Owl, Super Jerry reissue, 1/72 Nutcracker reissue, Eggeater and Nutcracker II
- New kits from Macross, Galient, MOSPEADA and Metal Slug
- 14 new tools and materials, including the offset single-blade nippers, UV putty and Takumi Mask Sol
Every price and release window here comes from what was printed on WAVE’s official display panels as of October 2, 2026. Anything labeled “est.” can still move, and items marked “in planning” aren’t even confirmed for release yet, so keep that in mind as you read.
WAVE’s All Japan Model & Hobby Show 2026 lineup: what are the prices and release dates?
WAVE showed 17 kits in total across new products, reissues and in-planning projects. Seven have a confirmed price and release window; the other 10 are price TBA, date TBA, or still in planning. The earliest to arrive is the VF-1J Valkyrie Battroid [Multiplex] in early October 2026, and the furthest out is the Scopedog Round Mover [Melkian Forces Color] in late November 2027.

| Ma.K. Nutcracker II (1/72) | — | In planning |
| VF-1D Valkyrie [Battroid] / [Fighter] (1/100) | TBA | TBA |
| VF-1J Valkyrie Battroid / Fighter [Multiplex] (1/100) | 4,950 yen each (US$32) | Early / late Oct. 2026 |
| YF-29 Durandal [Fighter] (1/72) | TBA | TBA |
| Panzer World Galient Promachis G (1/72) | 7,480 yen (US$49) | Jan. 2027 |
| MOSPEADA AFC-01H Legioss (Eta) Armo-Fighter (1/72) | TBA | Details coming soon |
| SV-002 Metal Slug Unit 2 (1/24) | TBA | 2027 |
| SV-001/III Black Hound (1/24) | — | In planning |
The Ma.K. Panzer Kampf Anzug Ausf D Dora (1/20, 4,950 yen / about US$32) was on display as well, but that one is an existing product and already on sale, so the table above sticks to new items, reissues and in-planning projects. WAVE’s panels also state plainly that everything shown is still in development and that details may differ on the finished product, so read the specs with that caveat attached.

Five new VOTOMS kits: what’s the difference between the Melkian Forces Color and the Turbo Custom DX?
The VOTOMS side adds up to five kits, two in 1/24 and three in 1/35. The two to watch are the fourth entry in the 1/24 series, Scopedog Turbo Custom [DX] (14,080 yen / about US$92, late November 2026), and the Scopedog Round Mover [Melkian Forces Color] (est. 11,000 yen / about US$72, late November 2027), which recreates the Melkian machine from episode 1. The former lets a single kit build any of the four pilots’ machines from The Last Red Shoulder; the latter sells itself on purple-family molded colors and a newly tooled Penta Trooper.
Scopedog Turbo Custom [DX]: build Chirico, Mooza, Gregoru or Byman from one kit
This is entry four in the 1/24 series, following the third release, Turbo Custom [Chirico’s Machine]. Alongside the fixed 7-tube missile pod, twin rocket launcher and Gatling gun, the box adds a Heavy Machine Gun (buildable in short-barrel form too), a Handy Rocket Launcher, a Handy Solid Shooter and a Solid Shooter. The booth had four builds lined up to show off the different loadouts, and WAVE’s panel notes that despite packing in more weapons than the Chirico version, the price is holding steady as a “first-run only” price.
![Scopedog Turbo Custom [DX] (1/24). Swapping the included weapons lets you build Chirico's, Mooza's, Gregoru's or Byman's machine](https://spotgeeks.news/wp-content/uploads/2026/10/HS2026_pla03.jpg)

More weapons than “Chirico’s Machine” and a beefed-up package, yet the price stays the same. This is a first-run-only price, so don’t miss your chance!
Source: WAVE, All Japan Model & Hobby Show 2026 display panel
That phrase, “first-run only price,” is the part you don’t skim past. It implies the price goes up when the kit gets reprinted, so anyone who wants all four pilots’ machines should lock down the first run. For reference, the 1/24 VOTOMS line’s Red Shoulder Custom was 14,080 yen (about US$92) back in 2024, so getting a substantially bigger weapons loadout at the same number is WAVE really stretching here. One caveat: a single kit builds one machine. Lining up all four means buying four boxes. Don’t get that twisted.

Scopedog Round Mover [Melkian Forces Color]: “that machine” from episode 1, in purple
This is the Melkian Scopedog that fought back in episode 1 of the TV series to defend asteroid Lido against the Gilgamesh assault. It wears a purple-family color scheme rather than the Gilgamesh greens, and it’s a glue-free snap-fit build with polycaps at every joint for full articulation. Gimmicks cover the cockpit, Arm Punch, crouch mechanism and turn picks, and the weapons include a newly tooled Penta Trooper on top of the Heavy Machine Gun. The instruction manual will include detail-up artwork drawn by Kunio Okawara specifically for this kit.
![Scopedog Round Mover [Melkian Forces Color] (1/24). A purple-family color scheme that sets it apart from the Gilgamesh machines](https://spotgeeks.news/wp-content/uploads/2026/10/HS2026_pla01.jpg)

The sticking point is the timing. Late November 2027 is more than a year out. And that 11,000 yen (about US$72) is an estimate, not a confirmed price. WAVE’s sheer stubbornness in doing a 1/24 of a machine that only appears in the opening minutes of episode 1 is genuinely impressive, but this is a wait-for-the-preorder-announcement item. Settle in.
Fatty [ST Version] (1/35): the first Balarant AT as an injection kit
The Fatty, the Balarant AT whose silhouette looks nothing like the Gilgamesh Dog family, is getting its first-ever injection-molded kit. The price is 5,280 yen (about US$35) including tax, with release set for February 2027. It’s 1/35 scale and, like the rest of the series, is planned as a fully articulated snap-fit model on polycaps. A prototype was shown at the previous Shizuoka Hobby Show; what’s new this time is that the price and release window are locked.

The Battle of Sunsa 4-kit set and Leeman’s machine: two Roots of Ambition projects
The “Scopedog Turbo Custom [Battle of Sunsa Spec] 4-kit set (planned)” gathers Chirico’s, Gregoru’s, Byman’s and Mooza’s Turbo Customs from the third VOTOMS OVA, Armored Trooper VOTOMS: Red Shoulder Document – Roots of Ambition, in 1/35. Both price and release window are TBA. WAVE’s panel says each machine’s distinct weapons loadout has been faithfully reproduced. Roots of Ambition also supplied the Scopedog Leeman’s Machine (1/35), shown as an in-planning project. There’s no price and no date on that one, so file it as good news if it actually happens.

In 1/24, all four pilots get folded into one “DX” kit. In 1/35, they come as a four-kit set. Either way, the plan is to get you lining up the same four men from The Last Red Shoulder and Roots of Ambition at two different scales. Buy both and your wallet is dead. Knowing that doesn’t make me want them any less.
Five New Ma.K. Kits: What Is the “Owl,” and Why Has Super Jerry Been Gone for 12 Years?
Maschinen Krieger (Ma.K.) accounts for five items: the all-new “Owl” (1/20, 4,620 yen / about US$30, late March 2027), the first reissue in 12 years of the “H.A.F.S. Super Jerry” (1/20, 7,480 yen / about US$49, late December 2026), and three kits launching a brand-new 1/72 line (a Nutcracker reissue, a confirmed Eggeater kit, and a Nutcracker II still in planning). The headline here isn’t just another round of 1/20 staples – it’s that a whole new scale is starting up.
Owl (1/20): A Nixe With a Search Seeker Bolted On
The “Nixe” was a stopgap: with production of the new Melusine running late and units short on hardware, engineers stripped out the Melusine’s indirect-vision system and grafted on the main hatch from the space-use Fliege. Add a search seeker to that Nixe and you get the “Owl.” It’s a snap-fit kit – no glue needed – with poly caps at every joint for full articulation, and marking decals are included. At 4,620 yen (about US$30), it’s one of the easier 1/20 Ma.K. kits to say yes to.

H.A.F.S. Super Jerry (1/20): A NITTO Classic With WAVE’s Own Extra Parts
The “Super Jerry” is a forced-reconnaissance variant built on NITTO’s 1984 “Jerry,” with WAVE-made exclusive parts added: front and rear appliqué armor, differently shaped feet, a triple rocket tube and more. This is its first reissue in 12 years. Price is 7,480 yen (about US$49), on sale late December 2026. You can build it as either the Super Jerry or the Gigantflow, glue is required (sold separately), and rubber parts and brass mesh are not included.

Pay attention to those two lines: “glue required” and “rubber parts and brass mesh sold separately.” Unlike WAVE’s recent snap-fit releases, this one rides on 1984 NITTO tooling, so you’ll need adhesive and actual tools to put it together. It’s a kit about the pleasure of building, pure and simple, and it is not a beginner’s project. Which is exactly why it should land hard with the fans who’ve waited 12 years.
The 1/72 Line Begins: Nutcracker Reissue, Eggeater, Nutcracker II
Alongside its established 1/20 range, WAVE is kicking off a 1/72-scale Ma.K. series. First up is a reissue of the “Nutcracker” (price TBA, reissue planned for 2027, glue required); second is the “Eggeater,” the subject’s first-ever injection kit (confirmed for production); and a “Nutcracker II” is in the planning stage as well. Per the official display panel, the Nutcracker had always been labeled 1/76 scale, but with this reissue the designation changes to 1/72.

Back in the day, 1/76 was the standard for mini-scale kits from Airfix and Matchbox alike. That appears to trace back to 1/76 being the scale of British OO gauge railway models. (…) Look around at kits in other genres today, though, and 1/72 is the common standard. Accordingly, with this reissue we are changing the “Nutcracker” designation from 1/76 scale to 1/72 scale.
Source:WAVE, All Japan Model & Hobby Show 2026 display panel
I love that note, because it tells the story of how Ma.K. came to be. “S.F.3.D.” was conceived to feel like an imported kit, so it took 1/76, the scale of Britain’s OO gauge. The fact that WAVE can now flatly say “1/72 is the norm these days, so we’re changing the label” says a lot about the practical instincts of a company still actively selling Kow Yokoyama’s work. At 1/72 you can line these up next to other manufacturers’ AFVs and aircraft. Diorama builders should be thrilled.
What’s New From Macross, Galient, MOSPEADA and Metal Slug?
Outside VOTOMS and Ma.K., the lineup covered Macross with the “VF-1D Valkyrie” (1/100, price TBA), the “VF-1J Valkyrie [Multiplex]” (4,950 yen / about US$32 each, October 2026) and the “YF-29 Durandal [Fighter]” (1/72, TBA); Panzer World Galient with “Promachis G” (1/72, 7,480 yen / about US$49, January 2027); Genesis Climber MOSPEADA with the “Legioss Armo-Fighter” (1/72, details coming soon); and Metal Slug with the “SV-002 Metal Slug Unit 2” (1/24, 2027) plus the “SV-001/III Black Hound” (in planning).
VF-1D Valkyrie and VF-1J [Multiplex]: Hikaru’s Two-Seater Gets New Tooling
WAVE’s 1/100 Valkyrie series is adding the VF-1D that Hikaru Ichijyo flew in episode 1 of the TV series, by way of newly tooled runners. The kit reproduces the head with its vertical twin eyes and squared-off camera, the stretched two-seat cockpit, and the differently faceted chest with its own panel lines. There’s no transformation gimmick – instead, the Battroid and Fighter modes are each built to their best possible proportions. Combine the two separately sold versions and you can even recreate the GERWALK mode. Price and release window are both still TBA.

Arriving sooner is the VF-1J reissue, the “VF-1J Valkyrie [Multiplex],” which adds decals for Maximilian Jenius’ and Milia Fallyna Jenius’ machines on top of the existing Hikaru Ichijyo markings. The Battroid ships in early October 2026 and the Fighter in late October, at 4,950 yen (about US$32) each. One caveat: the box contains runners for a single machine, so you pick one of the three decal options and build that. Don’t let the name “Multiplex” fool you into expecting three airframes.

Promachis G (1/72): A Galient Commander Type, Co-Developed With Academy
From the 1984 anime Panzer World Galient comes “Promachis G,” the commander variant of Marder’s mainline mechanical armor “Promachis,” in 1/72. Price is 7,480 yen (about US$49), with release planned for January 2027. It’s a fully articulated model with poly caps at every joint, and the shield used by the “Promachis V” at the White Valley is included as well. WAVE is co-developing this one with Academy, the South Korean model maker. It’s the variant follow-up to the Promachis currently on sale.

Legioss Armo-Fighter (1/72): Combine It With the Armo-Soldier for an Armo-Diver
The “AFC-01H Legioss (Eta) Armo-Fighter” from Genesis Climber MOSPEADA is in development in 1/72. Shinji Aramaki is supervising, with the balance and detailing freshly tuned, and combining it with the separately sold “Armo-Soldier” lets you recreate the “Armo-Diver” configuration as well. Price is TBA, and the official panel simply says “details coming soon.”

Metal Slug Unit 2 and Black Hound (1/24): A 30th-Anniversary Build of the “Phantom Machine”
As part of Metal Slug’s 30th-anniversary push, the “phantom Unit 2” – tucked away in the “Art Gallery” mode of the console ports and a total mystery until it became playable in METAL SLUG ATTACK – is getting a 1/24 plastic kit as the “SV-002 Metal Slug Unit 2.” Price is TBA with release planned for 2027, and it’s snap-fit with marking stickers included. On top of that, an “SV-001/III Black Hound” (1/24) is in the planning stage.

WAVE says Unit 2 exists precisely because the Unit 1 reissue drew such a big response. And the way they announced Black Hound on a pixel-art panel absolutely got me, Neo Geo kid that I am. SNK’s 30th-anniversary campaign also has METAL SLUG ULTIMATE COLLECTION waiting on the game side, so I’ll be tracking both the kits and the software.
WAVE’s 14 New Tools and Materials: Full Price and Release Date List
Fourteen tools and materials were on display, and the earliest arrivals are the “HG UV Curing Putty (Liquid, High-Viscosity Type)” (estimated 1,298 yen, about US$8), the “Parts Opener V3” (638 yen, about US$4), and the “HG Sharp Nipper Light for Plastic” (1,408 yen, about US$9), all in October 2026. The headliners are the “HG Eccentric Single-Blade Nipper” (5,478 yen, about US$36) in December 2026 and the “Takumi MATERIAL Mask Sol,” which is being transferred over from Good Smile Company (Winter 2026, price TBA).

| Cutting Mat mini, 2-pack (blue & translucent) | 1,078 yen (US$7) | November 2026 |
| HG Rotary Cutting Mat [S] (124mm diameter) | 1,848 yen (US$12) | November 2026 |
| Single-Use Flexible Micro Brushes | est. 550 yen (US$4) | November 2026 |

| White Paint Palette (6-well type) | est. 550 yen (US$4) | November 2026 |
| HG Eccentric Single-Blade Nipper | 5,478 yen (US$36) | December 2026 |
| Sponge Sanding Files #400-#1200, assorted (6-pack) | est. 605 yen (US$4) | December 2026 |
| Takumi MATERIAL Mask Sol (relaunched as a WAVE product) | TBA | Winter 2026 |
| Paint Sponges (tentative name), assorted (15-45mm squares, 5 types) | TBA | January 2027 |
| HG Detail Punch, Thin Band 1 / Stripe 1 (2mm wide) | est. 1,980 yen (US$13) each | Winter 2027 |
HG Eccentric Single-Blade Nipper: Leverage That Does the Cutting for You
This is a precision nipper with a razor-honed, ultra-thin single blade that slices through gates rather than crushing them. The eccentric design moves the pivot point closer to the tip, so it takes noticeably less hand pressure to cut than a conventional nipper, and because the base of the blade is reinforced, you can also chop up runners with it. WAVE lists the cutting capacity at roughly 3mm-diameter plastic, and it is not suited to hard materials like polycarbonate, FRP, or acrylic. At 5,478 yen (about US$36) it sits right in the normal range for a single-blade nipper, and the “gate cuts and runner breakdown in one tool” design philosophy is the real reason to pick it.
Takumi MATERIAL Mask Sol: Moving From Good Smile to WAVE
“Takumi MATERIAL Mask Sol,” currently sold by Good Smile Company, is being relaunched as a WAVE product with no changes to its performance or specs. It is a rubber-based liquid masking agent that peels away cleanly and doesn’t leave residue on the surface, and its selling points are the high-visibility light green tint, a low viscosity that lets it flow into recessed areas, and a drying time of roughly 10 to 15 minutes. Price is TBA with a Winter 2026 release, and the packaging will carry both the Good Smile Company and Takumi MATERIAL logos as planning collaborators. I read this as WAVE consolidating the tools-and-materials business under one roof.
UV Putty, Parts Opener V3, and Sharp Nipper Light: The Three October Releases
The “HG UV Curing Putty (Liquid, High-Viscosity Type)” has a softer consistency than the existing cream-style version, which makes it better suited to filling small grooves and hollowed-out sections, or repairing chips in resin parts. It won’t cure until you hit it with a UV light, so you can take your time working it, and WAVE recommends a maximum build-up of about 2mm per application. The “Parts Opener V3” is a new model that pairs the original’s blade tip with the V2’s slim grip, and the protective cap now stows inside the grip itself. The “HG Sharp Nipper Light for Plastic” is a lightweight double-edged nipper aimed at beginners. All three hit shelves during October, so grabbing them before you start on a Gunpla or a VOTOMS kit will genuinely change how the build goes.

Verdict: Which WAVE Announcements Deserve a Preorder Right Now
WAVE’s reveals at the All Japan Model & Hobby Show 2026 came to 17 model kits and 14 tools, and only three have both a confirmed price and a 2026 release date: the “VF-1J [Multiplex]” (October), the “Scopedog Turbo Custom [DX]” (late November), and the “Super Jerry” (late December). Moving into 2027, the “Pro-Machiss G” (January), the “Fatty [ST Version]” (February), and the “Owl” (late March) follow, while the “Melkian Army Color” version lands all the way out in late November 2027.
- Act now: the Turbo Custom [DX] at 14,080 yen (about US$92) carries a “first-run price.” Four pilots’ worth of weapons at no price bump means you want to catch that first production lot
- Decide before year’s end: the Super Jerry at 7,480 yen (about US$49) is a reissue 12 years in the making, with glue and brass mesh sold separately. For people who are ready to actually build it
- Waiting on details: the VF-1D, YF-29, Battle of Sunsa 4-figure set, and Metal Slug Unit 2 are all price TBA. The Leeman machine, Nutcracker II, Black Hound, and Egg Eater are still at the planning or greenlight stage
- Tools start in October: the UV curing putty, Parts Opener V3, and Sharp Nipper Light arrive first, with the eccentric single-blade nipper in December
What the SpotGeeks editorial team rates highest in this WAVE showing is the design thinking behind the 1/24 Turbo Custom DX. Three fixed weapon systems plus four hand-held weapons in the box, enough to build it as Chirico, Mouza, Gregoru, or Bayman, and the price doesn’t budge. It plays like a reward kit for anyone who has been collecting 1/24 VOTOMS all along. On the other hand, the Melkian Army Color’s late-November-2027 date and the pile of TBAs on the Macross and Metal Slug side feel a little early to be announcing. Once the show-floor buzz fades, the moments you actually open your wallet come in two waves: November 2026, then February to March 2027. Put those on the calendar.
November means the Turbo Custom DX first run, and Ma.K. starts with December’s Super Jerry. Those two kits are the spine of WAVE’s fall and winter.
