Narukonaru announced on October 28, 2026 that two of its smartphone games, Nintama Rantaro Futtobi Puzzle! no Dan Again! and Nintama Rantaro Mugen no Tsubo Daibosou no Dan, will both shut down at noon on December 16, 2026. In-app purchases were already halted at noon on October 28. Refund requests for unused paid items will be accepted from noon on December 16 until 11:59 a.m. on February 26, 2027, with the money going out between February 26 and March 19, 2027.

Again! only launched on January 28, 2026, which makes this a run of about 11 months. Mugen no Tsubo Daibosou no Dan started on October 24, 2022 and managed roughly four years and two months.

Two games from the same operator, closed on the same day. This article lays out the shutdown schedule for both, the refund procedure and its deadlines, and what we actually know about why.

Launched in January, dead by December. Given who plays Nintama, the harder job belongs to the parents who have to explain to a kid that the game is gone.

Start with the shutdown date and what to do before it.

When do the two Nintama Rantaro games shut down?

Both end service at noon on December 16, 2026. Sales of paid items stopped at noon on October 28, the same moment as the announcement, so from here on you are playing with whatever you already hold.

Again! was positioned as the revival of Nintama Rantaro Futtobi Puzzle! no Dan, which Bushiroad shut down back in December 2017. It is an action puzzler in which Rantaro, Kirimaru and Shinbei travel in pursuit of whoever stole the headmaster’s treasure, and watching a game with “Again!” in its name fail to clear a single year is genuinely rough.

How do refunds work, and what is the deadline?

Refunds for unused paid items are accepted from noon on December 16, 2026, the same moment service ends, until 11:59 a.m. on February 26, 2027. The money itself goes out between February 26 and March 19, 2027.

Account details are mandatory for a request, and the notice warns that missing information may make it impossible to process. You will not be able to look up your ID inside the app once service is over, so get the following down before December 16.

  1. Save a screenshot of your in-game user ID or player ID
  2. Check your unused paid item balance before the shutdown
  3. Hold on to your purchase history (the App Store or Google Play receipt emails)
  4. File the request from noon on December 16 following the official instructions

The request window is about two and a half months, but proving anything after your account details are gone is a different problem. It all comes down to what you prepare before the lights go out.

Why are both games closing at once?

As of October 2026, Narukonaru has not given a specific reason for closing the two games simultaneously. The announcement goes no further than the standard wording about having judged that continued operation is difficult.

Lining up only the facts we have: closing a 2022 game and a 2026 game on the same day reads as a decision about the Nintama game business as a whole rather than about either title. Factor in Bushiroad shutting down the earlier game in 2017, and this makes the second time Nintama Rantaro’s mobile games have been wound up.

Summary: noon on December 16, and don’t forget your ID

Nintama Rantaro Futtobi Puzzle! no Dan Again! and Nintama Rantaro Mugen no Tsubo Daibosou no Dan end service at noon on December 16, 2026. Purchases stopped at noon on October 28. Refund requests run from noon on December 16 to 11:59 a.m. on February 26, 2027, and refunds are paid out between February 26 and March 19, 2027. Account details are required for a request, so write your ID down before the shutdown.

SPOTGEEKS VERDICT

Closing in December a game you opened in January has to have been a heavy call on the operator’s side too. No reason has been given, so there is no guessing here. There is exactly one thing for players to do, and that is to get your ID and your purchase history into your own hands before December 16. The refund window looks generous, but it means nothing if you can’t prove who you were.

One screenshot today. That is what saves you in February.
